January 23, 201313 yr Just a note that may help some without a webcam, often times you can setup and use your digital camera as a webcam.
January 26, 201313 yr Be nice to have a vdo tutorial on settings this up I can get it to work it's just very twitchy. A guide is a must for these programs I think. http://fs2crew.com/banners/Banner_FS2Crew_MJC_Supporter.png Wayne HART

January 26, 201313 yr Running 1.7 using the .ini from here (thanks for that) but still enough yawing from side to side with my head held still as to create nausea. I applaud the concept and the effort gone into producing this software but until i'm able to hold things steady (enough to be able to execute mouse clicks) for me it's a 'nearly but not quite ' ... January 26, 201313 yr Trouble is, this web cam (Trust Cuby Webcam Pro) does not have any software to install and start it up! So I seem to be stuck at the moment. I did try getting it running through Google, web cam works fine, but I started FacTrack NoIR and still had no luck. Seems to me it needs a file which will start the cam as NoIR starts. by the way I donated and am using 1.7. I too had an old logitech webcam. Downloaded the driver from their site, and my system and FTNoIR found it just fine. Been learning how the settings effect the operation, and I found that once the camera was "started", if you press the "settings" botton, then the "camera" button, you will see autoexposure. I change it from 'auto' to 'Flickerless' (60hz in my case) and it smoothed out the tracking greatly! Only problem is now I have a viewpoint problem. Without FTNoIR I can set my viewpoint properly in the cockpit, but when I start FTNoIR, it puts me in the back seat and I can't seem to move it. Any ideas from anyone? Thanks.
January 27, 201313 yr Author I've never been placed in the back seat , odd that is , it should put you in the default cockpit position . Only thing that I do is , start fsx with facetrack noir launched but not tracking , put fsx in window mode , put my head where I want it to be whilst I'm flying , then start the tracker , then go back to full screen mode keeping very still whilst it switches back to full screen mode.
Paul Sleight
February 1, 201313 yr Well I found an early build of 1.7 and have it working with my new Rocketfish HD cam. I would describe my 2 hours of testing as a nausea simulator. Rather floaty view point no matter how still my head is. The view is incessantly moving, even if just slightly; the OP video even shows this. In the small youtube video it doesn't seem like much but bring it full screen and the sway effect becomes rather noticeable. I suppose one could get use to it but it also creates side effect, a new mini game within FSX of 'try to click that button' in VC. I'll wait for full 1.7 release then give it another solid go but so far its more annoying than helpful.
February 2, 201313 yr Author Try messing with the settings , I spent 30 mins on the curve settings & went from ultra twitchy to really quite good , if I keep my head very still whilst looking at a switch I don't have any problems clicking on them , maybe just a setup difference , if you like I can do another clip with it running & keeping my head still.
Paul Sleight
