January 21, 201313 yr Hi, I have installed the ed cox reverser spray in PMDG 747 and it works very well. Now i have installed the same way in the 737ngx but it doesn't work. Does anyone know if the reverser is fairly compatible with ngx too? Thanks to all, Jason Jason Cardeira
January 24, 201313 yr Author FINALLY! Got the reverser spray effect working with pmdg 737ngx, pmdg 747, leveld 767, pa380, a330 and antonov an225 (thomas ruth). I had to found it by myself and was not easy. It takes some more things to do to got it working. I dont know if the ed cox instructions are incomplete or the instructions that came with the rev spray are only for specific planes. Jason Cardeira
January 24, 201313 yr This sounds interesting, would you care to share more about this and how you solved your problem? Thanks Steve Steve Corzine

January 25, 201313 yr Author Hello all, This is for FSX ONLY! In fs9 and fs 2004 i don't know how it works. i use since yesterday the SUPRESSION FLIGHT WET OPERATIONS - it's payware but is very very good, because it uses the reverse spray and the engine spray. I'll upload later some pics for you to see. This tutorial is for ED COX REVERSER SPRAY: First of all, make a backup of your aircraft.cfg and your panel.cfg.. Installation: Unzip the EdCox reverse spray 1) The effect file fx_revspray.fx goes in your main FSX effects folder 2) The cab file revspray.cab goes in your main FSX gauges folder Next is the how to install for the PMDG 737 NGX ONLY!!! 1) In the aircraft.cfg file, find the [GeneralEngineData] mine is: [GeneralEngineData] engine_type = 1 Engine.0 = -5.943, -16.470, -2.880 Engine.1 = -5.943, 16.470, -2.880 fuel_flow_scalar=1.2105 min_throttle_limit = -0.3719 max_contrail_temperature = -30 The values of Engine.0 and Engine.1 go to the [sMOKESYSTEM], like this: (values are in the smoke.3 and smoke.4) [sMOKESYSTEM] smoke.0 = 46.000, 00.000, 5.000, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclight smoke.1 = 47.000, -1.000, 5.000, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclight smoke.2 = 47.000, 1.000, 5.000, fx_PMDG_NGX_vclight smoke.3 = -5.943, -16.470, -2.880, Opensky_revspray smoke.4 = -5.943, 16.470, -2.880, Opensky_revspray 2) Find your panel.cfg AND your Panel_VC_High ( or Panel_VC_Low ) depends of which you choose to fly (High resolution textures or low resolution textures chosen in the performance manager). In my case i have the Panel_VC_Low 3) in the Panel.cfg in the [Window00] you'll add under the last gauge, the reverse spray gauge, like this: gaugexx=revspray!revspray, 0,0,10,10 // Reverser splash Mine is: [Window00] file_1024=PMDG_NGX_main_wide.bmp size_mm=1920, 1200 window_size= 1.000, 1.000 position=7 visible=1 ident=MAIN_PANEL gauge00=PMDG_737NGX!CaptainGlareshieldEdge, 684, 410, 1236, 26, MAIN gauge01=PMDG_737NGX!LeftGlareshieldEdge, 304, 414, 380, 89, MAIN gauge02=PMDG_737NGX!LeftGlareshieldEdge1, 219, 503, 236, 98, MAIN gauge03=PMDG_737NGX!CaptainColumn, 1476, 0, 230, 410, MAIN gauge04=PMDG_737NGX!ClockSwitch, 0, 520, 219, 157, MAIN gauge05=PMDG_737NGX!ChronometerPanel, 0, 667, 219, 523, L #1 MAIN gauge06=PMDG_737NGX!DU, 219, 776, 451, 424, LEFT_OUTBD #1 MAIN gauge07=PMDG_737NGX!DU, 670, 776, 451, 424, LEFT_INBD #2 MAIN gauge08=PMDG_737NGX!DU, 1345, 776, 451, 424, UPPER #3 MAIN gauge09=PMDG_737NGX!Standby, 1122, 601, 221, 599, MAIN gauge10=PMDG_737NGX!GearPanel, 1796, 601, 123, 599, MAIN gauge11=PMDG_737NGX!DSP_Captain, 219, 601, 903, 174, MAIN gauge12=PMDG_737NGX!MainMisc, 1343, 602, 453, 174, MAIN gauge13=PMDG_737NGX!MasterCautionSystem_Captain,455, 503, 229, 98, MAIN gauge14=PMDG_737NGX!EFIS_Captain, 684, 436, 285, 165, MAIN gauge15=PMDG_737NGX!MCP, 969, 436,1099, 165, MAIN gauge16=PMDG_737NGX!LightSensor, 0, 0, 4, 4 gauge17=revspray!revspray, 0,0,10,10 // Reverser splash 3) Go to your Panel_VC_Low and add the same thing in the [VCockpit01] section! mine is: [VCockpit01] size_mm=1024,1024 pixel_size=1024,1024 texture=$GaugeOne background_color=0,0,0 gauge00=PMDG_737NGX!VCAnnunciations_0, 0, 0, 1024, 641, VC gauge01=PMDG_737NGX!VCAnnunciations_1, 0, 640, 927, 244, VC SIDE gauge02=PMDG_737NGX!VCAnnunciations_2, 0, 884, 726, 89, VC SIDE gauge03=revspray!revspray, 0,0,10,10 // Reverser splash 4) Start your FSX with the ngx on a wet runway (or parked at a gate) and you have to do the next thing ONCE!! with the aircraft parked, press "I" in the keyboard (this is to activate the smoke system, in this case the spray). Now you'll see the spray with the reverse thrust deactivated. Don't worry! Now, press F2 to activate the Thrust, and F1 right after, to deactivate it. Now there's no spray. If you press F2 again you'll see the spray. This step is only necessary for the NGX (don't know why) no one of all the aicrafts that i have, is needed to doing this. For the LEVELD 767: Do the same thing in the aircraft.cfg like what was done with the ngx, and: ADD the gaugexx=revspray!revspray, 0,0,10,10 // Reverser splash in the [Window01] section and in the [Vcockpit01] inside the panel.cfg For the PMDG 747: Do the same thing in the aircraft.cfg like what was done with the ngx (note that the 747 has four engine sections in the [GeneralEngineData]. Mine is: [sMOKESYSTEM] smoke.0 = -20.5, 0.00, 5, fx_pmdg744_cockpit.fx smoke.1 = -107.5, -53.3, -6.9, Opensky_revspray smoke.2 = -76.0, -30.0, -10.4 , Opensky_revspray smoke.3 = -76.0, 30.0, -10.4, Opensky_revspray smoke.4 = -107.5, 53.3, -6.9, Opensky_revspray Now go to the Panel directory, open Panel.cfg and add gaugexx=revspray!revspray, 0,0,10,10 // Reverser splash in the [Window00] section. Next go to Panel.vc directory, open the Panel.cfg there. Add gaugexx=revspray!revspray, 0,0,10,10 // Reverser splash in the [Window00] section. OBS: DO NOT ADD ANYTHING IN THE [VCOCKPIT01], in this aircraft is only in the [Window00] sections. In the Project airbus A380, Thomas Ruth A330, and Thomas Ruth Antonov An225, you must add the gaugexx=revspray!revspray, 0,0,10,10 // Reverser splash in the [Window00] and [VCockpit01] sections of the panel that you use. Hope this helps. Jason Jason Cardeira

January 26, 201313 yr with the aircraft parked, press "I" in the keyboard (this is to activate the smoke system, in this case the spray). Now you'll see the spray with the reverse thrust deactivated. Don't worry! Now, press F2 to activate the Thrust, and F1 right after, to deactivate it. Now there's no spray. If you press F2 again you'll see the spray. I followed your instructions carefully but, as soon as I press "I", I get the smoke all the time and it doesn't stop after I press F2 and F1 as you suggest. It all depends on whether I have the smoke system activated: if it is on, I get the spray all the time, if it is off, I don't get any spray even with the reverse on. What did I do wrong? James Goggi
January 26, 201313 yr Author try to restart fsx and dont activate again the smoke. Just press F2 and then F1. I had some issues in the beginning, but now it's all fine Jason Cardeira
January 28, 201313 yr Author I'll post some pics today or tomorrow. It's the water effect when it's raining or snowing Jason Cardeira
