January 31, 201313 yr I have MyTraffic X 5.4 and some payware airports but most of them is empty without static aircraft. Also there are few planes landing or taking off in these airports. My traffic is set to ultra high. Should I set it to %100 to see a realistic traffic? Also does this makes a load on i7 cpu? Thanks Büke Yolaçan
January 31, 201313 yr Actually, at any settings higher than 40% (airliner traffic, that is) you'll get some strange side effects, i.e. planes at airports where those planes simply couldn't/shouldn't be. (I've not experienced anyting like that, but it's porbably like some Austrian Dash-8 flying around in South America). This done, so that even the largest airports have fully crowded aprons, but it's not realistic at all. Could it be, that somehow the SimObjectPath entry for MyTraffic isn't there in the [MAIN] section of your FSX.cfg? That would cause the planes not showing. As you mention payware airports: Do you happen to have the "aircraft cast shaddow on ground" option checked? If so, try unchecking it, and see if the planes appear. There's a known issue with some Aerosoft airports, where AI aircraft don't show up with ground shaddows. And, yes, MyTraffic at 100% traffic settings will difinitely put a load on your CPU. I don't know, if that alone can bring your computer to its knees (don't suppose so), but you'll definitely have a noticable effect. Regards, Flo Florian
January 31, 201313 yr Would be helpful to know which airports. I run MyTraffic X Pro at just 15% and where I fly the airports are packed with traffic. Simmerhead - Making the virtual skies unsafe since 1987!

January 31, 201313 yr For example I have no static aircraft in Blueprint KLAX. Also there are only small planes going in and out to airports. I want a real airplane traffic going on. Sounds very strange. Are you sure the installation went OK? Load up one of the default airports like KJFK or KORD. They should be packed with airliners with just 10% traffic settings. January 31, 201313 yr Author I reinstalled FSX after MyTraffic X setup so I will try to reinstall it also. It says that I should add it from scenery menu, should I put it to top priority? Büke Yolaçan
January 31, 201313 yr I had a issue like this when I did a new FSX config file. The culprit was to insure that there was a 6 sim objects pointing to my traffic's folder. Like you I had ga but no airlines. "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma
January 31, 201313 yr I use My Traffic X 5.4 and it's 10th down in the list inside the FSX scenery menu with no issues. I tried running it at 100% once just to see what it does and in addition to killing the frame rates, there were just way too many AI planes battling for takeoff and landing space leaving me a little PO'ed. I settled on 15% for airline traffic density and 20% for GA aircraft density. Even at these settings, there's a nice mix of planes whether it's in Hong Kong, Rio or Birmingham. Chris Sunseri
January 31, 201313 yr Usually larger airports, which are "proper" airports with several parking sports in default FSX work rather well out of box with MTX. Some smaller airports, which are perhaps only one runway without parking in default lack also traffic with addons, because there is no traffic for that airport in default MTX bgls. For that, you have to build new traffic files with the editor. It is a straightforward procedure and is covered in manual: it is only few clicks, but computing traffic may take a while depending on the computer. To my knowledge, building new traffic files may add planes to larger addon airports too in case, for example, there is 10 gates in default airport, but 30 in addon version. So in other words, with rebuilding new bgls you are creating new traffic files based on the correct properties of your addon airports. With editor, you can of course build traffic for your airports fully manually as you please, but that may be a bit tedious job especially with more larger and busy airports. I run MTX (I use P3D and MTX equivalent for it) with jetliners 30-35% and GA 25-35% and it works really well. I have built traffic files a couple of times.
January 31, 201313 yr Author I checked again and besides traffic, I have like 1-2 static planes in airports like FSDT KLAX, KJFK as last I checked. Also where can I set the traffic amount of MTX? I checked my fsx.cfg but sim object is already pointed. It's weird having a few static planes also. Büke Yolaçan

Traffic settings of MTX is done in FSX "Display Settings" - no different than if you didn't have MTX installed. January 31, 201313 yr Author I will talk to them about traffic but is there a traffic generator I am missing? I connected it to FSX that's all. What about static airplanes also? Are they controlled by MTX too? Büke Yolaçan
January 31, 201313 yr I will talk to them about traffic but is there a traffic generator I am missing? MyTraffic Editor is the MyTraffic.exe located in the folder. Use is throughly explained in the manual. Creating global schedules automatically using airport dump is not complex, but enough so, that I'm not going to write it here step by step as it is in the manual. I connected it to FSX that's all. What about static airplanes also? Are they controlled by MTX too? You don't need to use the editor to get the MTX traffic to FSX, it is only for creating new traffic files. MTX utilizes FSX SDK bgl traffic files just like the default traffic. MTX just uses its own models and creates far more schedules than there is in the default traffic bgls and editor is a tool to create those traffic files. And no, MTX doesn't control static aircraft if they are just static objects placed on the scenery. Of course there are parked planes in the airports, injected by MTX bgl files which according to their schedule taxi to the runway and take off to their scheduled destination where they land and taxi to gate or parking. Usually MTX works just fine with its own default traffic files out of the box. If user likes, he can enhance or change the traffic to his like with the editor even for single airports if he wishes or create new global schedules. Edit: I found a quick explanation how to create new global traffic files: http://forum.simflig...ld/#entry442124
February 1, 201313 yr If you are getting only a couple of planes in Klax with traffic around 40%, something is definitely wrong. Have you looked onthe "view" menu to see the list of AI aircraft? The list should scroll off the page. You can use PlanG to see the AI aircraft within some selectable distance (typically 50 nm). It seems to me that it takes a bit of time for the AI traffic to generate the AI planes, but in my case (I7 processor) it is not very long. On a slower computer or an overloaded one, it may take longer, especiallly if you are low on memory. If you have Prepar3D, try installing it there (I used the migration tool and it works perfectly). February 1, 201313 yr Being a long time My Traffic X user...id say you have somehow messed up the install, what i would do is follow the directions in the MyTraffic X readme file on uninstall procedures and then give it another try. If you have airline traffic set at 40 percent and are flying anywhere near LAX, your sky should be filled with planes, My personal settings are 35% airlines and 30% GA traffic. With those settings i was just at Victoria International in British Columbia (hardly a huge hub) and there was activity in the air and on the ground. I landed my little Bellanca Scout ahead of a Westjet 737, and there were a couple of jets taxiing around on the ground. I should have taken some screenshots...
