February 24, 201313 yr very very close to PMDG standards, almost identical. 5-4-3-2-1.......I think I hear the PMDG users coming to bash my post The one thing I wish they didn't do, which visually is the only thing that I can see that distracts from being up to PMDG standards, is the inclusion of a fictitious visible TO/GA button on the MCP. I know one is needed, but it would be so much better if it was an invisible click spot! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
February 24, 201313 yr A question for you guys who've bought this. Do you have rain drops on your windshield everytime you load the plane up? I am noticing this even when I have my weather set to clear. Another thing is, the plane is steering to the right. I have re calibrated my joysticks and everything. So I'm not sure why its pulling so hard to the right. I know this topic has been discussed numerous times but I still don't understand why its doing this and it's making it very difficult for me to taxi and takeoff. One more issue I find is that with the 777's menu, when I go to save settings, it won't save? For instance I have several options i checked on and off and filled in the values for the passengers, fuel, etc. When I exit out of X-Plane and come back, the options are back to how they were. Any ideas on why this happens? I want to enjoy this plane but these problems are making it difficult for me. To save your menu settings, there is a button SAVE STGS. Click it once you decide what you want checked or unchecked at the beginning of every flight. When you restart your next flight, you have to click LOAD STGS and your saved settings will return just as you set them! Be sure to uncheck the box about failures... you don't need extra problems when learning the plane. Severe pulling to one side may indicate blown tires. I blew 4 tires on my plane due to a bad airport design by a freeware developer. When I lined up on the runway after leaving the taxiway, I had a row of runway approach light bars in front of me, nothing to do but drive over them, popping my tires. I have communicated with the airport developer and am hoping he can help me move those approach light bars! Doh! Another HUGE thing is to go to XPlane settings and assign a joystick button to toggle your steering from your RUDDERS to the NOSEWHEEL. On the ground (taxiing) at low speed, the steerable nosewheel makes worlds of difference. If you haven't already, you can dump the squealing tires noise, send me a PM and I'll tell you how. That is the only 'really annoying' thing about XPlane. There is no question X-Plane and the 777 is the future of Flight Simulation! I can also point you are a plug-in that will allow you instant tuning of your radio comms channels which will help you get ATIS info for your plane, and switch between different ATC controllers if you're interested. Finally, set a small dead zone for your rudder pedals and throttles. I would configure them in X-Plane, and if you run Windows, you should probably check the settings under devices and printers. Your joystick will be there, and your rudder pedals too, unless you're using something else to control your rudders. You'll be happy with this plane! There will be a learning period if you watch their YouTube tutorial video, it will help a GREAT deal. Cheers! February 25, 201313 yr Robert thanks for all the helpful tips. I am using an xbox 360 controller to fly with on my Windows machine. Yes that squeaking brake noise has been driving me crazy. I would love a fix for that. February 26, 201313 yr No lie. I asked you to email me but 5by5 handled it for you. She's great! That squealing tire sound is NOT my favorite. R. Scott McDonald B738/L Information is anecdotal only-without guarantee & user assumes all risks of use thereof. Click here for my YouTube channel
February 27, 201313 yr Can anyone comment on whether the engine fans are animated? I looked at the video and the picture, and it looks like the blades are not spinning or spinning slowly, not realistic at all. February 27, 201313 yr Yeah, same here. I would love to fly X-Plane more but I can't without VATSIM. I hear xSquawkBox is working, or looking for help to create a 64-bit version. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Chris (and others who might be interested) There is a wonderful pay service called PilotEdge which has a 64-bit plugin for X-Plane (Windows version is here now, Mac version is being built). This works wonderfully with the Ramzzess B777 Worldliner (on the B777 menu, you put a tickmark in the Radio Plug checkbox - which will enable the radio plugin from Pilot Edge to come through the comms channel on the B777. Team this up with the 64-bit XSaitekPanels plug in, and you can swap your radio frequencies with HARDWARE instead of mousing... a real step UP. You may try PilotEdge 100% free for 14 days WITHOUT A CREDIT CARD. They have a wide variety of pay plans to accomodate anyone from 'once in a blue moon' to a guy flying a ton of hours every day. PilotEdge is light years better than VATSIM in a couple of ways - crystal-clear pristine sound, available 7 days a week 8am to 11pm. The only knock is that (so far) they only service Southern California, not the entire world, but you can for sure begin or end a flight with them and KNOW that their controllers won't be running away for dinner breaks, dentist visits or to answer the front door. That's something that beats the pants off VATSIM. Plus, PilotEdge provides ATC to real-world airlines, LevelD full-motion simulator centers, and the U.S. Military. So you THINK it might be good for us sim pilots? Cost as little as 50 cents a day on the annual plan. I can almost afford it! I signed up for annual plan after only 7 days of free trial. (The billing doesn't begin until I use up my full 14 free days). I found PilotEdge because I INSIST on 64-bits all the time, and will NOT be forced by anyone to run 32-bits any more. Check it out! Can anyone comment on whether the engine fans are animated? I looked at the video and the picture, and it looks like the blades are not spinning or spinning slowly, not realistic at all. Thanks Yes, the fans are animated. They don't spin as fast in actual flight as they should (IMHO). I can live with that. The plane elsewise is amazing and very PMDG-like, which I can't think of a higher compliment. Until PMDG brings something to X-Plane in 64-bits, the 777 from Ramzzess is a must-own airplane. R. February 27, 201313 yr I have posted a group of re-recorded PA (Public Address) announcements for the 777 using DELTA airlines. You can preview or download as you wish. The files get copied to the 777 Worldliner sounds\pa folder. You would overwrite the existing files with these (make a copy of the 777 sounds folder first in case you want to go back to default sounds). R. I just bought Xp10, seeing that you have used PMDG products, I trust your assessment. Btw, do I have to buy the liveries? If I have to do that, then it would be insane! The product page does not show me what liveries come with the package. it comes with liveries but extras cost $10 for like 7-10 liveries.
February 28, 201313 yr it comes with liveries but extras cost $10 for like 7-10 liveries. If there anything in the EULA prohibiting users from making there own? If so, that is not a good thing, that is the same marketing scheme Ariane used, and we all know what reputation that got them!! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
February 28, 201313 yr it comes with liveries but extras cost $10 for like 7-10 liveries. 0 Now that is gouging. Liveries should be free. We are not talking McPhat textures here.
