February 27, 201313 yr I'm currently on the lookout for a good Airbus but can't decide on which one to get. I've been looking at the JARDesign A320 NEO and Peter's series of A3XX's. Preferably I would like a short-to-medium hauler as I already own the Ramzzess 777 as my main long-hauler. Peter's Aircraft series look really good as all the systems seem to be simulated in great detail, however only his A380 has a VC as an extra option. As much as I understand the idea of only using a 2D panel I just don't think I could fly without a VC. The JARDesign A320 looks OK but I'm not sure about the level of systems depth. How does it compare to the Aerosoft Airbus X Extended or BBS Airbus for FSX? Michael R
February 27, 201313 yr Peter has stated a VC will come along in the future. Ramzzess is making it I believe, which would explain the delay. They have been quite busy with their 777. Right now, Peter's A321 works with 10.11 and not 10.20. His A380 is in final testing for 64 bit X-Plane and the 64 bit plugin for the A321 will follow.

I might hold out till he updates the A321 for 10.20. I'm also happy stick it out with 2D and wait for the VC if that's already in the works, Ramzzess have already made quite an amazing 777 that's kept me fairly busy lately especially with the update they recently released. I believe they also did the VC for Peter's A380. Michael R
March 2, 201313 yr The JARDesign A320 looks OK but I'm not sure about the level of systems depth. How does it compare to the Aerosoft Airbus X Extended or BBS Airbus for FSX? From the list of features, Peter's A321 wins hands down. There no auto calculation of T/D T/C, but he said he will add it. His is more like the Airbus X pre-extended but with more system simulated. It will be a while. Vu Pham i7-13700K 5.2 GHz OC, 64 GB RAM, RTX5090, SSD for Sim, SSD for system. MSFS2020, XP-12, DCS

March 5, 201313 yr Author Is there anything that comes close or better than Aerosoft's Airbus X Extended on FSX? It appears that Peter's A321 has the most systems depth (possibly more than the AXE) but it lacks a VC so am holding off until that gets released. Also, I notice that all his aircraft use the default XP navdata and he integrates the functions of the default FMS into his custom Thales-style FMGC. This would also mean that you can't enter SID/STAR's directly as part of your flight plan, the ability to use features such as altitude constraints, speed restrictions etc appear to be included however. The JARDesign A320 appears to be somewhat similar to the AXE. It even supports the same NavDataPro that the AXE uses. Michael R
March 6, 201313 yr The JARDesign A320 appears to be somewhat similar to the AXE. It even supports the same NavDataPro that the AXE uses. The JARDesign is more like Airbus X, not extended. There is no FMGC. Peter's FMGC has no support yet for SID/STAR and also it does not have VNAV hence no calculation of T/D, T/C etc. He suggests to use UFMC/XFMC for the time being. In short, Airbus still has a way to go in XPlane. Vu Pham i7-13700K 5.2 GHz OC, 64 GB RAM, RTX5090, SSD for Sim, SSD for system. MSFS2020, XP-12, DCS
March 6, 201313 yr I was reading a review of JARDesign A320neo and that's the only one that looks visually appealing, especially the VC. The Airbus X Extended in FSX was quite stunning to look at while flying. It's the best looking one to me. And now I'm also anxious to find out what the best overall replacement Airbus is X-Plane 10. Seems like JARDesign is the one as I can tell. I think from the review that it stated it has both the regular built in X-Plane FMC and a dedicated A320 FMC if I'm not mistaken. I plan on purchasing this if I can't find anything better. March 6, 201313 yr Here are the features of the JARDesign A320neo: http://a320neo.ucoz.ru/index/review/0-5 I was flying and really enjoying it, but now all that I fly is 64bit with X-Plane, so I'm waiting for him to upgrade the neo to 64bit. I have Peter's, but since it doesn't have a VC, I haven't installed it. I'm waiting on that too. Robert Yunque
March 6, 201313 yr Author Here are the features of the JARDesign A320neo: http://a320neo.ucoz....ndex/review/0-5 I took the plunge last night and got myself the JARDesign A320. I'm quite impressed! not what I expected at all, seems to be on par if not slightly better than the AXE. I downloaded all the little extra goodies that they released including upgraded cockpit textures and their v1.1 beta (which is surprisingly stable and even better than the original release). The only issue I really had seemed to be related to their default NavDataPro which wouldn't list STAR's and approaches for YSSY during my test flight, this was rectified once I downloaded the latest Aerosoft AIRAC cycle from Navigraph. I was flying and really enjoying it, but now all that I fly is 64bit with X-Plane, so I'm waiting for him to upgrade the neo to 64bit. I'd love to spend more time using 64-bit X-Plane but still stick to 32-bit for now as I spend most time flying on VATSIM and need xSquawkBox to function. I haven't really noticed much of a performance difference between 32 and 64-bit, although 64-bit is definitely nice to have. Since all the recent updates I am now moving more and more towards X-Plane and can see my days with FSX slowly coming to an end. Michael R
March 6, 201313 yr FlyBoyMikey, do you know when JARDesign A320 Neo will be fully 64bit compatible? And you have used both Aerosoft's Airbus X Extended in FSX and JARDesign's, could you please tell me which one has a better looking virtual cockpit? March 6, 201313 yr Author The JARDesign is more like Airbus X, not extended. There is no FMGC. The JARDesign Airbus definitely has an FMGC, but only on the captain's side, the one on the right seems to be default XPX. It seems to have all the same functionality as the AXE with the exception of adding an ALTN destination and flight plan. They seem to have also implemented T/C and T/D calculations in the v1.1 beta with their new ND, but I've read that it isn't that accurate just yet. Michael R

The v1.1 beta is supposed to work with 64-bit but apparently it's still in experimental stages and may not be stable. I haven't tried it myself yet but if I get time tonight I can fire it up and let you know how it goes. I think it's still worth it just for the updated ND but there are still a few minor bugs. The VC was a little bit rough when I first loaded it up but if you download the updated textures from their site it adds a little bit more 'wear' and finer details making it look really nice. They also include an update for the window and glass panels which makes a big difference. The VC may not be quite as nice as in the AXE but it comes very very close, I also think their external model is excellent and on par with the AXE. I'll post some screenshots when I get home tonight. March 6, 201313 yr Thanks FlyBoyMikey! I will definitely look forward to seeing the screenshots. I really want to buy this plane but will wait to see more screenshots before making the commitment. March 7, 201313 yr Author I've just completed my first full flight from EGKK to EDDF in the A320 with some VC shots and one external shot below as requested. Unfortunately they came out darker than they actually are so had to try and touch them up a bit. Michael R
