June 18, 201312 yr Author Moderator Don't forget to take a complete image back up of your OS and FSX. It could come in handy one day.. when you install something and breaks something you can't figure what.. Yeah I might do that not sure though. I've made a backup of some of the key FSX default folders after I patched up to SP2. I'm pretty good at keeping a log and backups before installing new software in case I install something that breaks something else. Since April 2008 I had installed my OS and FSX one time and one time only. In all those 5 years I never had a problem with installing something that broke something else, but I have installed things that I later had to remove. Not to say that it couldn't happen, but I am very careful about what I install and have gotten pretty good at trouble shooting over the years in case something bad happens. I may just image my whole FSX folder though, that way if something does happen, even though I wont be able to just cut and paste the whole install, at least all the texture work I have done can basically just be copied back after reinstalling addons and wont have to go thru each and every texture again. That was the most time consuming part of the whole reinstall. Had I not done that, I would have probably been done a week ago. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
June 19, 201312 yr Hi. Mind if I ask a question here since this conversation is about 680? Is there a big difference in developer, I mean EVGA, Asus, NVIDIA, GALAXY or Cigabyte or it is really does not matter? Thanks. I recommend EVGA. Like Ben said, they have the best customer service. Open 24 hours... EVGA by far has the best customer service and support for their products. I have delt with them many times and it is almost always a hassle free experience. I agree. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
