CS 737 (Feedback)

Featured Replies

Anyone flying the CS 737.  I have the 707 and enjoy flying it and have been tempted to pick up the 737 but was looking for feedback from the forum.  I see that it has been almost a year with no new update

Its incomplete just like all their other aircraft. In particular, the flight director isnt working, and the PDCS computer is incomplete/not working as advertised. Just read this thread for specific issues: http://captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1346764500

FYI, there is an issue list thread like this for pretty much all of their aircraft.

I wouldn't recommend it either, unless you want a specific version, because IIRC MilViz are working on a 737-200ADV (not totally sure about the ADV, but for sure a 732 version), which could be released in the next months I guess.

Definitely wouldn't recommend.   Lot's of outstanding bugs and like all CS products, it's now effectively abandoned as they've moved on to a raft of other (half baked) products.    Major problems with the FD spoil realistic flying, along with many other things.  They advertised that they had mapped the AP's controls to the standard FSX key assignments (something which CS normally don't bother doing), which is important for key assigning and also for some hardware that uses key assignments ....... but very few functions work as advertised, and the most important (Heading Bug Control) doesn't work under key assignment at all.      They promised a fix many month ago, but it's never been delivered.

I'd never recommend the CS 737 (I too love the CS 707), but mind you, it is better than the Just Flight (BBS developed) 737-200 which in my opinion is sub-FS8 standard.

We still await a high quality 732 ......... hopefully MilViz will deliver!

Beautiful to look at, but not too much fun to fly it.

It has a lot of bugs and missing features, like the already mentioned F/D and the buggy and incomplete PDCS...

I would agree with the others and steer clear of the CS732. Milviz will more than likely be the one to get. Although, the CS732Adv exterior might be worth sticking on the Milviz cockpit. Milviz has a cockpit more suitable for the later 200's but are doing the exterior as an early basic 200.

However, with CS's business model lately of going after other developers, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if CS releases some sort of upgrade just before Milviz comes out with their 737.

Fly it all the time and have no issues with it. Dont use engines computers anyway. I rather enjoy it.  aint a GDPM but it fine.

I bought the 737 with the last CS 9.99 sale. I'm glad I did because it's not worth the regular price. I really really wanted a 732 so when the sale came along, I thought I would try it out hoping it would be close to good. My issues so far have been that the model is way overpowered, I've tried some fixes suggested on the forum, but i'm not satisfied. The other issue (which can be worked around) is that the PDCS will cause CTD sometimes. But if you use it carefully and slowly, it seem to be ok; they key is to not push a button twice if it didn't respond the first time. Just wait a few seconds. I've been able to avoid CTD since I took this advice. But my advise would be to wait for Milviz or an update from CS.

I have it because I craved a 732. Biiiig mistake. It's buggy. Incomplete and awful frame rates.

HOW MANY MORE AIRCRAFT ARE CS GOING TO RUIN?! R.I.P L-1011.

Wake up people and stop buying their horse manure!

Or Enigmasim...

I believe EnigmaSim is a 737-300/4/5, rather than a 732, but yes still looks fab, and looking forward to it!

Good point that Adam raised above about the CS 732, that I forget to mention in my post.... ridiculously unrealistic power;  all the climb IAS and VS speeds area waaaaaaaaay off! ...... The usual level of attention to FDE from CS.........

I reduced power scalar to 0.68 and it was a lot more realistic in terms of overall power but off in other areas.

In short ........ if you want a half decent 732, this ain't it ......  but time rewards the patient

Ah, sorry guys, yes it's 3/4/500, I heard someone mention "Classic" and I automatically thought 200 :)

One of my all time favourites. I was very pleasantly surprised when I bought the CS737 at the Christmas sales. Been flying it around the globe ever since. Very good immersion and sounds. I tweaked its FDE just a little bit according to one fellow user. My next flight will be a charter to the  Mediterranean with Air Britannia. It rocks.

I won´t need any further interpretations about this type. Maybe the modern one (PMDG) at some point.

One of my favorites as well, love this old classics.

Regards,
Stan
