Ryan,

you're completely right, when the mouse appears on the screen there's 5 fps drop! when pressing alt and leaving the mouse up there it instantly increase to 30 fps.

but my question is how can i make the mouse disappear after certain time so i don't need to press alt and move the mouse up every time? he won't disappear if not touching. cheers!

Daniel,

On my system if I don't touch the mouse after a few seconds in FSX it disappears on its own. To my knowlege this is part of FSX, not something you can enable/disable. I certainly didn't do anything to make that work here. I wonder if there's some small amount of jitter in your mouse's position (like the cursor position is rapidly moving back and forth by a tiny amount somehow) and that keeps it from ever disappearing. Try picking the mouse up into the air and hold it there - if it goes away after doing that that's probably a good sign that the sensor isn't tracking the surface very well and might be jittering.

For fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com

or it can still move if you have dust in front of it or the sensor is loose (like i had 2 times with my logitech G500 -> now switched to G400 and everything is fine).

anyway, you might also take a look at this (its how i have my fsx settings controlled via the nvidia display driver, check the bold settings):

and in case you are someone who regularly updates his nvidia driver.. try to remove it, reboot, find some kinda driver cleaner, remove obsolete files, reboot, install newest nvidia driver.

i had a screwed up nvidia driver and very low frames sometimes. after i did that, frames went up again.

Ryan i've found the problem, if i fly on full screen with FSINN open the mouse cursor won't disappear. i flying in windowd mode, or closing it he will. cheers! thanks so much for your help.

  • 1 year later...

Just a btw.  This is now happening to me on the 777-200 LR.  I was at Dallas, planning a flight to Honolulu.  When I set up the etops rings on the ND I noticed that when in the flightdeck my fps dropped and movement was stuttering.  Removed the etops rings and smooth as silk.

I also noticed that the range that the display was set to also had an impact.  If I set the display to 10nm the hit on fps and the stuttering was the worst.  160 and up there was negligible impact.

I'm using an nVidia 680GTX (well 2 in SLi mode but FSX oesn't use SLi).

+1 BOEING 777

This fix page makes my fps drop 10-15fps.And i also see a drop with greater nm area. Nothing new though. Happened from day one and also with the NGX

Hmm this has never happened to me. Might be isolated

I myself never had this issue as i would fly a pattern and would have 5 nm and 10nm rings with a radial on vor at the airport..

Thanks,
