  1. Unable to download it. It fails. I hate using IDM
  2. Just to add to the comments. Even though my tenure at Qantas was brief (4 years) I worked on most of their 744 aircraft. The aircraft is just a 744 and not the ER version. Qantas had if I remember right only 6 ERs (GE powered VH-OEE through to OEJ), a handful of GE engined 744s (non-ER - 3 I think VH-OEB through to OED) and the rest were RR powered 744s such as the one shown in the video (VH-OJA through to OJU). In the later years QF used the 744 RRs between LHR and SYD/MEL with the occasional visit by an ER version and the rare GE non-ER version. I cant remember how many of the RRs were configured in 3 class instead of 4 class but at Heathrow we rarely saw OJA-OJE I think it was so it was probably those. Aaron -ooo-
  3. Just a btw. This is now happening to me on the 777-200 LR. I was at Dallas, planning a flight to Honolulu. When I set up the etops rings on the ND I noticed that when in the flightdeck my fps dropped and movement was stuttering. Removed the etops rings and smooth as silk. I also noticed that the range that the display was set to also had an impact. If I set the display to 10nm the hit on fps and the stuttering was the worst. 160 and up there was negligible impact. I'm using an nVidia 680GTX (well 2 in SLi mode but FSX oesn't use SLi). Aaron -ooo-
  4. On that 15 hour flight I mentioned, I passed in the vicinity of good quality airports at the following: Phoenix, Denver, Chicago, Philadelphia, NY, London, Amsterdam, Dubai (Aerosoft, Flightbeam,FlyTampa, FSDT, Imaginesim, Sunskyjet, UK2000). And I never said anything about I like looking at my scenery from 35000ft - just that I refuse to deactivate scenery.
  5. I'm sorry, but I refuse to deactive scenery. I use AS2012 for weather and reduced the cloud textures to 512x512. The only 2 times I OOM'ed with the 777 was before I did this. Since then I have no problem whatsoever. I did a 15 hour flight over the weekend (KPHX-OMDB) and when I landed it was silky smooth with FPS over 30 and no OOM.
  6. Hope you guys can sort it out. Last week I did a 15 hour flight from VRMM-PHNL no OOM/CTD. The only "mod" I did was to drop AS2012 clouds from HD to 1024... Aaron -oOo-
  7. I thought I had the answer then I saw that you said GEX doesn't register engines as shut down, so as I can't remove my post, I will just change what I have written.
  8. Panman replied to Nixon's topic in PMDG 777
The first 2 times that I flew the 777 (KMEM-OMDB, and EGLL-KJFK), I suffered from OOM's. Since then, all that I have done, is tell activesky to use 1024 textures instead of HD textures - now no more OOM's. I refuse to disable any scenery. Since then I have flown EGLL-OMDB, OMDB-VRMM, VRMM-PHNL (that flight was 15 hours long!!) all of them using high quality sceneries with no OOM's. Aaron -oOo-
  9. I always enter xxx.xxx and it works.... Aaron -oOo-
  10. I believe what is happening here is what I experience, though not everytime. I would advance the throttles, it would spool up, and after a little while spool back down. To avoid this, I advance the throttle to the 55% and when I click the TOGA I also advance the throttle on my yoke to the calculated N1.....
  11. If on the day, using PFPX, I find a route that is quicker/more fuel efficient, can I use that instead of the pre-planned one? Aaron -oOo-
  12. It's just you... Aaron -oOo-
  13. There is also a Ryanair dreamliner scheme available. So much for "as it isn't realistic"... Aaron -oOo-
  14. Did you match relative humidity and density? Aaron -oOo-
