It's probably going to be the last generation of physical boxes before games make the transition to services in the cloud you'll rent not own.

"Onlive" was the first and really before it's time, but the technology is there and getting better.

I'm still surprised that they are able to use the cloud so much when the US is struggling to get broadband into the country.

I was never a console guy but what I would like to see is Steam to develop a very basic game oriented operating system that will allow people to assemble a PC into a gaming machine with a very basic O/S to play games on.

With some hardware manufactures to back it this could be a very good alternative to Consoles as you can customize your own Gaming machine.

Have you read about Valve's Steambox, increasing Linux support and Steam's Big Picture feature? Basically they're a couple steps ahead of you already. ;)

Yes I have heard of it and used the Big Picture feature. I would want that without Windows all together.

Big Picture works on Linux too... ;)

Just need a few more games.

Would probably pick up either one of the two eventually just for FIFA 14 and NBA Live 14, since EA decided that the PC wasn't worth their new engine (stupidity, according to me, but then again, what do I know?  :Silly: )

I have been so happy with PS3. Although the only game that I play on it is Gran Turisomo GT5. I love Dirty NASCAR (Online)... Its such a riot. That is my killer app in PS3.

I was waiting for Ace Combat (the older version was my killer app on PS2)..but the latest Ace Combat was a total FAIL...so I threw that in the trash.

PS3 gave me 3D on my DLP TV. It gave me Internet access and able to connect to Netflix and Blue Ray. Its totally worth the $350 I paid for it

Gran Tourismo 6 on PS3 soon...already announced

Now if only Linux support became more common among X-Plane devs...

I think that, as with all things, these things take time.
