Realistic Routes For Biz Jets

Featured Replies

What would be realistic airports a bizjet like the Citation X would fly out of and to? Is there a website with flightplans?ricardo

Hey where did u get that Citation X from? :)

Quite a few Citation X's are parked at KTEB and many come in and out during the day. I would imagine santa monica and most 2nd largest airports in smaller cities would be realistic destinations.I have all my biz traffic done with GATraffic which uses landing fees to sort out what sort of traffic goes to which airports.P.S. I dont think there is a citx with enough LODs and low enough polygons to make good AI traffic. Check out Henry Tomkiewicz's models.

This is a great question that doesn't have an obvious answer. Can we perhaps compile a list of GA airports that cater to such operations based on everyone's local knowledge? We have TEB, I would add KAPA for Denver. Mike Monce

KVNY in Los Angeles has a couple. In fact they have a bunch of everything GA there. Including one particularly loud 737ng bizjet that likes to leave at 9:45am practically every single day.KPDK in atlanta is also a popular bizjet hub. KVGT is a useful one for getting in and out of Vegas. I usually keep an eye out when flying longer haul routes for nifty little airports to check out in my Citations.

KSDL and KDVT near KPHX:-)

Islip MacArthur airport (ISP/KISP) and Republic airport (FRG/KRFG) on Long Island have lots of biz jet flights. My rule of thumb for Citation X is as long as the airport has a 5,000ft runway then it's a good canidate for the Citation X to land at.

You can also use Airliners.net as a resource. Just do a search on the Citation X, and you will get a big list of airports where X photos have been taken.

Add KPWA! Wiley Post Airport has a charter operation with a Citation X.I will second a previous poster's comment that most "second larger airports" in major cities will have Citation X operations.

Pretty much any airport with a runway long enough (not all that long) has probably seen most biz jets a some time or another. Routes are random and at the will of who is the passenger at that moment.

Got several here at KLGB, along with most every other type. (Both Gulfstream and JETWAY services centers here) I like to watch them depart while I'm eating lunch. (work at Boeing)

For those in the UK, the following airports are certainly main airports for Bizjet activity(in the south of England anyway)EGLF - Farnborough (Tag Aviation, Gamma Aviation Base)EGLC - London CityEGKB - Biggin HillEGGW - London LutonEGKK - JerseyEGWU - London Northolt (UK base for Netjets)I hope our US friends will use these as Trans Atlantic routes as per real life.RegardsSmileymiley
