July 24, 201312 yr remember that the TAT probe can be influenced by engine temperature like on the 737 NG. For instance on the ground it can indicates a temperature of 99° when engines are running for a while...
July 24, 201312 yr If you enable DYNAMIC WEATHER, then yes, FSX goes silly after a while, but I have NEVER seen it drift with it disabled. Robin Is the DYNAMIC WEATHER you are referring to the same as rate of change in settings>customize>weather? Thank you Michael Cubine Michael Cubine
July 25, 201312 yr Author The solution to the problem took three steps: 1. Disable FSInn Weather 2. Make the Weather Theme: Clear skies (clears all weather) 3. Make "Rate at which weather changes over time:" = "No change" Thanks to everyone who helped me solve this problem. And, sorry to the Gods who are PMDG that I erroneously associated your excellent product to this problem. TAT's are wonderful now ... the plane climbs to cruise altitude with no problems. C. T. July 25, 201312 yr Commercial Member I think I may have just confirmed that the dynamic rate of change thing in FSX seems to be the source of these temp issues. I did a takeoff and climb out of KPHX with Opus - I saw the high temp with the change on, turned it off, went back and refreshed the Opus weather and it's gone. This actually might make sense - the problem is FSX trying to modify and "evolve" what the weather app is injecting. If it stays static and you just let the weather app update things every 15 minutes or whatever then FSX never gets involved in trying to change it. Blankenship ...are you saying you got the problem with clear sky weather theme and rate of change set above zero? Or did you go straight to all three changes? Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
August 5, 201312 yr Commercial Member Yes indeed, so it seems C.T.'s problem's gone, but as a matter of interest, I just don't see which component caused the issue. FSX seems to get a lot of stick for stuff like wind shift problems and now the poor old dynamic weather changes slider? All the best Steve Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
