July 22, 201312 yr Howdy: Previously I complained about performance of not being able to reach cruise altitude using VNAV and it was proclaimed to me that the excessive TAT (+50C and above at altitude) was a bug in FSX and could not be resolved. It would behoove you to talk to the developers at Level-D (I'm flying the 767-300 for 10 flights so I can advance to the 777 program and use it when it finally is made available to the public) ... because I don't have the TAT problem with them ... see graphic below: https://www.dropbox.com/s/f29q4vy2qsxwvpd/TATProblemRevisited.jpg Also, I'm flying the REX weather. For the amount of money I'm spending with this company (737NGX, J41, 747 and soon to be released 777) I expect this problem to be resolved. Thanks for your attention in this matter. C. T. Blankenship
July 22, 201312 yr As far as I am aware, this is not a problem with an add-on aircraft, but the occasional glitch in whatever weather program yours using.(Be it REX, AS, Opus,...) Name available upon request
July 22, 201312 yr Author Occasional glitch? How about 100% of the time glitch when using the 737NGX and a 0% of the time glitch when using the Level-D 767-300.
July 22, 201312 yr Hello CT Have you tried to reproduce this issue using FSX Clear weather theme? Might be worth giving it a try. Let us know how you get on. Gavin Gavin Price
July 22, 201312 yr Personally never had a problem with the TAT using the NGX. I fly using Active Sky 2012 and always seems accurate to real world conditions. Tony Simpson FLYING FROM EGKK, The worlds busiest single runway Airport.
July 22, 201312 yr Author Then why did Mr. Mariaz (close enough to his name so that you know of whom I speak) ... communicated to me in a post on this forum that this was a known bug in FSX and that nothing could be done about it? Hey Gavin: Yes, I've tried it with Active Sky, OPUS and REX ... same problem ... I have yet to test it with MSFX clear weather ... but will try that shortly. Finally, a short search of this forum for TAT backs up my claim that there is a problem. C. T.
July 22, 201312 yr When flying in the Middle East, I've noticed sometimes the TAT has risen to +50 or so in the climb - the aircraft will eventually stop climbing through FL250! However, restarting AS2012 fixes it. Apart from that I see no issues with the NGX. - Luke Pabari
July 22, 201312 yr I'm sorry, never experienced such a problem. Lj. Prodanovic
July 22, 201312 yr I don't think it's a fsx bug but a weather engine bug, some people get it and some don't
July 22, 201312 yr Author Here is the conversation to which I referred ... https://www.dropbox.com/s/3kmp6j5mknztlg8/JMTATResponse.jpg Looks like there is nothing to do. CT
July 22, 201312 yr I've had this happen, but rarely, and I restart FSX. Trying the clear weather (no weather) option in FSX is good idea. PMDG does not in any way manipulate the FSX weather, but unlike some aircraft simulations, PMDG does accurately model the aircraft performance given environmental conditions. This is the reason usually given that you notice it as in problem in PMDG but not other models, and I tend to buy into this argument. Dan Downs KCRP
July 22, 201312 yr Yes hopefully a test in clear weather will provide us the answer of the culprit. Gavin Price
July 22, 201312 yr Author He stated that there is a problem with OPUS ... but there is nothing to counter the statement that I made which is why the Level-D 767 using REX does not create the same problems. C. T.
