Carenado Malibu

Featured Replies

According to their FB page they are doing a piston Malibu. Shouldn't be too hard to take the modeling from the jet prop hehe.

Just some more cutting and pasting

Oh I bet they were hoping never to let that secret out lol.

Hoping it's a steam version

Same. If the right seat view of their jet prop is what they model in the left seat of the Malibu I will be happy.

However I'm a little full of single GA props these days. We could use a twin like a Aztec, Apache, Twin Commanche or a Aero (twin) Commander.

Yes, it's a bit "safe" for them to do this, but, I am pleased they are, and will buy this one, as I vastly prefer the piston Malibu's over the JP conversions.

In fact the last time I had the Carenado JP installed, I 'converted' it to a piston malibu, with some CFG changes, a sound pack change, some gauge changes, and I think I used the FSD Saratoga's FDE! ..... og yes it wasn't pretty but it worked for me.

Love the Malibu.   Piston all the way!

Funny that the Twin Commanche get's a mention above, as I reinstalled the Eaglesoft Twin Commanche yesterday, just for fun, and was blown away by how good it still is..... FDE and Flight Handling Charcteristics are divine;  up there with the MilViz 310 (possibly nicer to hand fly).     ....and getting the RXP 430 in there was a 30 second job, although I couldn't get the route to display on the Twin Commanche's native MX20 display, usng "GPS_link" stuff.

I have been flying and enjoying the Eaglesoft TC for some time and agree that it's a very good plane.  the only drawback in my opinion is that it does not have an ADF receiver/gauge.  I queried this a few weeks ago, and Eaglesoft said that it is because they modelled it after an actual a/c that did not have an ADF.  Even so, I think that is a bit of a drawback to the navigation.

Umm, try Eaglesoft TC...

Correct, it's a direct simulation of AOPA's bonus plane to Roy Wilbanks.

It was modeled by Roys friend Owen Hewitt who flew the real thing right seat and recorded actual sounds.

Umm, try Eaglesoft TC...

.......a beautiful plane! ............ and perfect RXP 430 integration!

Yes, no opposition to user integration but no actual support for such from us..

Here's hoping its a steam gauge Malibu!

Me too also!  With RXP integration, of course.

I've been hoping they'd do this for some time, just as I wish they'd do an updated Seneca V (steam also, please).

However, I suspect it might be easiest for them to do another G500 implementation - and that's OK so long as you can still use the RXPs.  If they do G1000, though, I think I might cry.

Agreed the G500 isn't bad.
