Ok, I have been flying this a bit since the last patch, and while it is a bit of fun and looks pretty nice even though the cockpit is a little cartoonish, it is not worth the price I paid and I wish i got a refund. Hopefully it matures into something decent in time.

After a fun afternoon flying the 737 around Alaska, I feel I am obliged to publicly apologise to all at milviz for my harsh comments. They were unjustified and written in a moment of frustration. While there are a few quirks and the lack of addon livery's is disappointing it is quite a solid simulation and enjoyable to fly, especially when combined with accufeel.

Special shoutout to Colin from milviz, who took the time out of his life to have a discussion with me regarding a possible refund, which I have decided not to take.  Great customer service!

They really are great guys.   And the MV732 may not be perfect out of the stables, but few add-ons are.  It really is getting there.  Especially now with the custom SP177 autopilot and working FL CH and EPR modes, which Jonathan "Frag" did a super job on.

It's a nice add-on and they are still working on, to fix small detail.

It's the best Timouse for FSX I wish they expanded with the 100 and add the 3D Ball in the Artificial Horizon indicator, but it's not going to happen.

I created the Aloha Air Cargo livery here in avsim if you want flying on Hawaiian island.

Any chance of the Aloha Funbird livery :P

Any chance of the Aloha Funbird livery :P

I did for CS, I will certainly do it for the Milviz, but not soon.

Hey all,

I initially bought the MV732 but got a refund as the APs just did not cut it for me.   We all have our specialities and interests and for me, it's realistic autoflight systems.

Anyway, I rebought the MV732 yesterday, with the new custom SP177 (with EPR and FLCH hold being available) and the good news is, it transforms this aircraft!!

It's flying like a dream now; the EPR function really nails the EPR level.  The FL CH is brilliant at holding the 'current' speed.  It's a little lazy when you change the speed (eg, let's say you activate FL CH at 160kts, and then dial in 250kts)... in that instance it does shoot the speeds a little but it captures them soon after....... and as I was saying to Jonathan (Frag), I'm sure the real aircraft probably does that to a degree anyway!   (The SP177 is still a 80s generation autopilot).

Re:  key commands;  the aircraft does not support FSUIPC Mouse Macros, but Jonathan has worked hard to set up custom hex values to be used with a MCRO file (with FSUIPC), for the custom modes (which are now EPR, FLCH, and VS).   I am just awaiting the man himself sharing the MCRO file and hex values  (still trying to get access to MV forums; 3rd attempt).

All other AP modes and dials work with key commands using default values (eg Heading hold, Nav, Alt, etc).

TIP:  When you take off, and have a pre-selected altitude in the window (as you always would)..... don't select the 'Alt Hold' mode as you used to have to with the previous 'default AP' model of the aircraft.    The new version works as it should;   take-off, engage a lateral mode then engage FL CH or VS, and the aircraft will automatically level off at the pre-selected altitute.   Alt Hold is now as it should be;  a 'hold the current alt' mode, not a pre-selected mode.

It's all good.     If you were put off by the last version having the default AP, you may seriously want to look at the MV732 again;  I really love it now;  it feels exponentially more real with a good representation of the SP177.

Also - huge Kudos to Milviz;  I asked if they could offer a version of the 732 that uses the older SP77 AP but still with the FMS available.   I was (as far as I know) the only person who publically asked for that, and MilViz took the time to provide this feature, and PM'd me to let me know they'd brought it in.

So the Configuration Manager, now gives you the choice of :-

SP177 autopilot + FMS

SP77 autopilot + FMS

SP77 (no FMS).

Now i am a bit confused about FLCH ...

The MilViz 737 website (still?) tells that there is currently no FLCH available under SP177 ...

http://www.milviz.com/fs/item.php?id=B-737

Am i getting something wrong here or am i overseeing something?

Please do not get me wrong as i really have an eye on this interesting looking aircraft and consider purchasing it.

But i just thought it worth waiting for FLCH and all that to be implemented.

But now, as it seems and as pointed out by Dave "Q_flyer" and in#741 here, FLCH is already working under SP177?

Cheers, Christoph

EDIT:

All clear now!

See reply #750 here!

Enjoy flying and happy landings.

...add the 3D Ball in the Artificial Horizon indicator, but it's not going to happen.

The ADI installed in this early model 737-200 has a drum display, not a ball.

Colin just hasn't updated that page on the website yet.

Okay i see!

Thank You very much for the info!

Enjoy flying and happy landings.

After  4 hours of constant "above and beyond" support from Jonathan Bleeker, coder on the MilViz 732, I just thought I'd let you know that we've found a way to get keyboard assignments on ALL of the new version of the MV732's SP177 autopilot functions.

The standard functions were assignable to standard FSX variables anyway, but we've not got LVL CHG, EPR and VS (which is custom) working with key commands too (all using FSUIPC).

The fact that they work with key commands will mean that they'll work with most hardware

.......... but it wasn't a straight forward job!

It involves entering raw hex vales into FSUIPC's <custom_controls> dialogue, and also using a Macro (.mcro) file.     (Both are required to get both the functions themselves working with the key commands, but also the AP button lights and indications).

If anyone else is interested in this, drop me a PM and I'll forward you the instructions.

There is plenty of photo on airliners, it could be a nice option, if I model and texture for you would you implement ?
