Landing Lights Illumanation

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I have this slight problem, my landing lights does not seem to illuminate the taxiway nor the runway. I reinstalled shockwave 3D lights with the 1.2a fix  but still the same problem persist. This is with all aircrafts.....PMDG,Superbug, Airbus X, Carenado to name a few. Is there anything i can do to resolve this.? Advise and help needed please.

Thank you

Gizmo

Shockwave lights DO NOT illuminate the ground. Period.

The "ground splash" of the default lights for taxiway/runway are generated by two files only:

fx_landing.fx

fx_2.bmp

If anything has modified either or both of those files they will likely fail in the sim.

Yes i have ENB series installed. Is there anything i could do to rectify problem? As mentioned by n4gix, i really would not know if the files mentioned were modified nor overwritten. Can anyone resend me both the files pls?

Appreciate your help

I have ENB and have the same issue as well. It also happens to all persons who use ENB. Its an issue you have to "give up" to ensure eye candy for other areas sad to say. What I tend to do is a bit unrealistic, but i turn on the left landing light to "act" as a taxi light which illuminates the ground sufficiently. You can try to see if it works for you and your need for 100% realism.

Is there a way to uninstall ENB? Completely clear it from FSX?

Dushantha Baduge

I know it seems obvious, but do you have "Landing lights illuminate ground" ticked in your FSX settings?

Strange, I don't have fx_2.bmp in my Effects folder, do you mind sending it to me? Thanks!

That file is in the Effects/texture folder.

Sharing files like that is something that should not happen.

Guys,

I did a check on my FSX folder for "x_landing.fx" & "fx_2.bmp" and i realized that i do not have those to in my effects folder. Is there anyway someone could send to me pls?

Dushantha Baduge

Delete the ENB first and see if it works. Go to your main FSX folder and delete these files:

d3d9.dll

enbseries.ini

enbpalette.bmp
