Closest thing you can get right now - buy an iPad and get the excellent FS Kneeboard 2 app. That's what I do.

If you have a JeppView subscription, you can download the JeppView app onto your iPad and you will have an EFB solution that will be 100 times better than anything anyone could do inside the sim where you have to pan and zoom to be able to see it.

New video every Thursday: Aircraft Lighting - Boeing 777

i also can,t wait to see the pmdg 777 in the store chris , if you say that the problem is that the users of the Jeppesen EFB are minority due to expensive price , so PMDG can program the EFB to open PDF files , i think it will be very easy to codic the EFB to open PDF files that we have pdf free charts across the internet , and PMDG can make that in next update to the product to to avoid the dealy of the product , and with that PMDG can active the EFB and save effort and make EFB function for many users by easy way

please think in my suggestion

Thank you

i hope that EFB will never happend in PMDG 777.. you know that every android and iOS device can read pdf too? and your computer TOO!! EFB in 777 doesnt have touch display so you must navigate via buttons.. in sim.. while you are flying or taxing.. and looking out please tell me how you want look at EFB and on nav displays or out from window at same time.

this is madness.. i tried "simulating" EFB on tablet... best thing ever.. i tried EFB in CS 777... worst thing ever...

btw.. in real word the EFB installed on planes is used very little.. many companies (GIA,AAL,BOX) using iPads for charts and laptops for external apps (for fuel calc, v-speeds, weights) so its not so real to use efb after all http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h37/enriquep100/AA000028_zps3f0f769a.jpg

EFB is not just a pdf viewer... much more involved

...and people gave me crap for mentioning people don't know what EFBs are...

Navigraph is starting a web based subscription soon I think. So web based charts will accessible.

One thing I could see happening is a tie up between Navigraph and PMDG to use their vastly cheaper sim charts in some form in an EFB. That would be pretty cool.

Yeah well - and now there are people like me, who have Jeppessen access (or LIDO (I wish) or EAD) - and they would have to pay extra.

Besides... really, charts are the last thing I would use the EFB for. Just so damn impractical in the sim.

Navigraph charts are identical to Navtech charts which some airlines use - Finnair comes to mind (I am sure there are a lot more).

But yeah, as I mentioned in a thread in the FSX forum, I much prefer to use my iPad with a licensed copy of JeppFD. I just wish Jeppesen would allow me to slave my FS position so I could use the georefrenced charts and have my position displayed on the charts by an arrow.
