Idealflight must have

Featured Replies

Lovely shot Rich ...... Wow that lighting over the Co-Pilot's instruments look fantastic... .... I dwore I wasn't going to buy the Malibu, you're tempting me... noooooo!

Yes Ideal Flight is awesome - I've fallen out of the habbit of using it lately, but this thread is going to get me looking at it again.

My favourite feature is having the 'brief' that it puts into the kneeboard tha tells you your departure runway, arrival runway, etc.... really useful.

Hi Dave hope all is well - thank you - just bought TBM850 thats my new go to aircraft if you dont have it think about it, its awesome

So you have IF cool, its all new to me but after digging some what I am very happy, hope Steve gets the new version out soon

Rich Sennett

I haven't got the TBM850 or the Malibu, Rich, and I need to save my pennies for the 777 and A2A 172, so no tempting me!

I'll tell you another fab feature to look out for on IF, Rich, you can click a button somewhere and it will leave your last active (user, not AI) aircraft at the last place you left it.

So let's say you flew the TBM850 and left it at Parking Spot 5 at KBOS.    You could start a new flight, go to Parking Spot 6 in the Malibu, and the TBM850 would still be parked there, right next to you! ...... awesome.      Check that one out!

IF just has so many super little features;  it's like a Swiss Army Knife for FSX.

Great stuff Dave - I will take all the info I can get, take care.

Awesome. Rich I am glad your the test base for this. I have been looking at it for sometime. Might just have to give it a try. I spend the majority of the time flying the sim. I am really tired of adding programs to the don't use file. After reading what is written here, I think this one will deserve a shake. Thanks for the honest review of the program. This is what make us a great community. Cpt out.

Best Regards,

Thnx guys. Please note that Rich has got a preview of the soon to be released IF10 version [sf]. The weather in the current version [se] is good, but the weather improvements coming with IF10 version [sf] (free update) add a few nice improvements.

That shot is so so so fantastic. Really good job. Also, how do you like your Mirage? Do you recommend it as a buy?

RJM this program takes the muss and fuss out of all the up front work, I spend to much time doing that IF takes care of that, you need to give it a chance but if you do the rewards are great, for instance as mentioned being lazy lol - I put the dep and arr airports in hit fly in the IF menu and I am done runway to runway flight plan loaded, all needed info loaded into aircraft nav system, prop aircraft  - as for ngx - airbusx - level-d  etc. -----  you would have to go to co-route page in fmc and load it.

Also you can inject different weather scenerios from the IF menu before you take off

I am not trying to push IF, I was on vacation this week and got bored loaded up IF and was surprised by all of the neat things you can do with it.

The Mirage is nice but now have migrated to TBM850, modeling is superb but a tad hard on fps so I do shut off co-pilot screen, if I had to choose it would be TBM850

As mentioned by Steve wait for the latest version to get some of these goodies - especially fmc input this had to be created by Steve on my request hows that for product support, feature was not there until I asked for it, wow.

Thanks Guys

Wow, so in the coming build, when you hit Fly it will not only do it's usual setting up stuff, but will also populate the NGX / AXE's FMC FPL pages too? ........... that is fantastic if I've understood it correctly!

Yes Dave posting some in game menu features buddy hold on

I had issues with ngx co-routes IF has now fixed that, works great, new version will do it, I have not tried the advance to TOD in ngx yet, having some fun with piston's right now.

Wow awesome! ......... there are a lot of options there, that were'n in the last build that I am still using (I think I'm a few versions behind).

Thanks for taking the time to make the screenies Rich.   You must have some good hardware? .... AntiAlias settings look fantastic there, very smooth edges on the side pillar of the TBM850! ...... Mine is good/smooth, but not that smooth.

I installed the PMDG 777 and run up IF10 (version [sf]). On the start page popup menu I chose the PMDG AIRAC installed with the 777 and IF10 integrated the data with the sim data. A subset of airports and facilities common to both AIRAC and simulator scenery is made from which problem free routes are created. With the upgrade features I easily create an export object which exports a PMDG FMC .rte v3 file to the FLIGHTPLANS folder. While discussing that the folder may not have access permissions so we can also re-run the IF10 installer which will check and set permissions on all our export folders. Now every time I make a flight the FMC file is exported at the same time. I launch the flight and enter the filename into the FMC and choose coroute:

been using this for a long time now and its the best GA planner package out there! As Rich and others pointed out there are so many features that for me Im still discovering bits and pieces nearly 2 years later!

I particularly like the auto generated GPS plan that takes you from departure all the way to the final and touch down if you let it and your crazy lol, really handy for those snowed in Alaska flights.

Steve do you have a rough time frame for the 777?

IF10 version [sf] used to be "out soon", later it was going to be "out very soon", now it's "almost ready" and really will be out very soon indeed, well, shortly, at least. :Hypnotized:
