September 24, 201312 yr Hi, Sorry, I was on hollyday for a week. After another clean installation and without changing anything, I tried an ILS approach with a quick setup. I had the altitude calls, but not aht approaching minimum and minimum. The second flight was the same. After the third flight with the same setup (not a saved situation), I have lost the altitude calls. For those tests, I didn't change nay of the setup on aircraft or equipment, or anything else. I hope it can help. Vincent For the approaching minimums and minimums callout, the minimums must be set on the Captains side.Did you have that? Or do you have the Captains displays turned off (I dont know what happens then)? Maybe PMDG could give us the feature that syncs altimeter setting (FO and Capt and Stby Altimeter) for Baro/radio minimums as well. Rob Robson

It seems that setting the CPT side will permit the approaching minimum/minimum calls. But still no altitude calls. Thank anyway, I will try some other approach with and without selecting the minimas on the CPT side to confirm that. Vincent
September 24, 201312 yr Commercial Member This should be your absolute last resort. I still have no idea why people here jump to that action so quickly... Because in the past, it was the advice spouted by too many who didn't know what they were doing (and still don't). It's the same with advice about restarting your computer after installing certain software - it was never necessary on Windows NT, or Windows 2000 and later, but when XP was the current OS in the FS world, the advice was still to restart the computer after installing something, or otherwise doing things that were just wholly uneccessary, because those making such recommendations didn't understand what they were doing. Best regards, Robin.
September 24, 201312 yr Eeeehm, I think we are way past that discussion! We are trying to solve why some are missing call-outs. Now everybody breath...breath...nobody insulted by the previous post, ok good. We all have our opinion about reinstalling...I hope everybody agrees there is no need to dig that up again. Not in this thread at least. Rob Robson
September 24, 201312 yr I've found that there seems to be some issues when saved scenarios are used. I usually will complete a flight, secure the aircraft and then save the flight so that I can start the next leg from where I left off. With the 777 though any time I start from my saved flight issues can crop up. Sounds might not play or eicas messages wont go away etc. The solution is to set up the flight from scratch. The issues go away. I'm sure PMDG is aware of this. Steve Giblin
September 24, 201312 yr Author Hi, After several tests, I can confirm (til now!) that the calls <<approaching minimum>> and <<minimum>> only works if the minima on the captain side have been pre-setted. So, I recovered my previous saved flights, configuration and setup, and those calls are working. Vincent.

September 28, 201312 yr Weird. I dont know what else to offer :-( I would contact support with a ticket at this point. Rob Robson
October 18, 201312 yr Author Hi, I found something interesting, and that could be, I said COULD, the source of the problem. I informed the PMDG team and we keep in touch to each other to confirm this point. I tried to set the Aircraft specific Setting from the Operations Center, and I noticed something. If you set all data and you save it, the save button remain blue, and your option is not saved. I you set one option at a time and you save it each time, the options is really saved. By this method, I recovered the altitude calls out. If anybody have the same issue, can you try that please ? Regards, Vincent
October 19, 201312 yr Interesting find. I can not try at the moment. It would explain why I never had this issue because I have always used the FMC to set my options. Why do you use the Ops Center to set options by the way? Is there any advantage over the FMC I am not aware of? Rob Robson
October 20, 201312 yr When you lose the first call out try clicking Q twice and see if that brings the callouts back. Double check your loaded flight in the FMC to ensure all the callouts are on in the panel state you have chosen. Try resetting the panel state - see if that makes a difference - turning the callouts off and on again and resaving the panel state. Rob
February 21, 201412 yr Looks like I'm bringing life to this topic again! Was about to post about but then saw this thread. I've noticed that I have not heard the 50 foot callout even though I turned it ON in the FMC aircraft options. I hear the other callouts but that one. Thoughts?
