September 15, 201312 yr This is what I want to do type in an airport and a radius in nm and have it list all the airports of all types, seaplane bases, heliports etc .. for example KATL and 50nm then it would give me a list of all the airports within 50nm from KATL is there something that does this, or is there a way I could do this easily? thanks Ciao!
September 15, 201312 yr Not sure about a utility, but I like Skyvector - http://skyvector.com/airports where you can type in the name of the airport, like KLAX and it gives you a massive amount of data, like all the SIDs and STARs plus, at the bottom it provides nearby airports with instrument approaches. September 15, 201312 yr http://www.aopa.org/airports/advanced Can search based on zip code, airport code or lat / lon. Don't put anything in the 'Query' box at the top - that will auto fill when you make selections. List is in ascending order by distance. September 16, 201312 yr yeah. but not enough.. I want all the airports within a specified radius of one airport Yes, there is such a program. Can't recall it's name or who developed it, but it's out there. If I get the chance to check my downloads on the external drive, I'll see if I can come up with a name or a link.
September 16, 201312 yr Here is as close as I have seen, and instead of a separate application on my PC I instead use a separate tablet as I fly to access information like this. Try CheckWX.com. Enter the airport code for the airport you are at and then click on the Weather Nearby tab. That will present you with a list of airports and distance on the left, and a map on the right with flags at each airport. Also, pass your mouse pointer over each one in the list and you will see a popup with the airport name and other information on the map. Unfortunately this will not list many small airstrips that lack weather equipment. September 16, 201312 yr Search for Martin Gleeson in the library. There is a program called Destination Finder It does all that you asked. EDIT: Version 2 for FSX is only at flightsim.com. Only the FS9 version seems to be here at AVSIM. Tom
September 16, 201312 yr Aivlasoft's EFB does this. Its about $75 but you can try the full demo for 30 days. It does exactly what you want. I use it all the time to find airports close by to fly to. You can get airports from 50 -500 nm
September 16, 201312 yr Author Thanks all. Apopa is what I'm looking for, I'll look for that download at flightsim Ciao!
