QualityWings 757 Pitch issue

Featured Replies

I am having a big problem with the QWSim 757. I set my plane up for takeoff using a checklist. I checked everything and set the trim. I line up on the runway, and set takeoff thrust. When my plane reached 75 knots, it automatically pitched to 50 degrees nose up pitch while the main gear was still on the ground. This made the tail drag the entire runway. The plane finally got airborne, but wanted to pitch up more. I have tried takeoff without trim at all, but it still does the same exact thing. Pitching up extremely before speed even reaches V1. Before it even gets to 80 knots. What is causing this? I have checked the balance and the plane is not tail heavy at all. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

Did you load the aircraft using the QW Load Manager?

Definatly sounds like the trim is not correct, can you post a sceen shot of the trim on the throttle quadrent

Jay

At any weight, I'm amazed the aircraft could physically even pitch up at only 75kts!

Trim would not do that, even full up elevator would not cause that to happen.

High winds?

High winds?

It is a 757 not a kite.

The thing is that it's not a 757, it's a "Quality"wings addon.

Doesn't matter if it is the default Cessna, the same principals apply.... Unless he is departing with a 100 knot headwind it has nothing to do with wind.

No point discussing, techniques, wind or take off CG, something is corrupt. He says he has reinstalled but how is he doing the install? Does he have an aggressive anti virus quarantining critical files? is there something specific to his system that is causing this dodgy behaviour, has he applied patches correctly?etc etc.

Yeah, although the 'it's not a kite' comment was a bit condescending and unnecessary IMHO, Rob is absolutely right.   I own the QW757 myself and it will not take-off at 75 knots under any normal in-sim conditions.     Something is seriously corrupt, unless FSX is in slew mode.

In terms of flight dynamics I don't think there's anything wrong with QW 757, in fact I find their 757 & Bae 146 to have rather realistic feeling FD.

Like others have said I bet either the installation is corrupted somehow or maybe something is causing it to trim fully up which could explain such behavior.

Have you ever tried to take off with a 140 kt headwind? Say, in hurricane conditions? I have and sometimes the aircraft won't even stay on the ground when cold and dark.

Sure, but your airspeed indication would still be 140 knots. Is the 75 or 80 knots he's referring to airspeed or ground speed.

No I haven't, and if I did I wouldn't be posting on here asking why my addon was behaving in a unrealistic manner..

I think it is pretty safe to say he is not trying to take off in a hurricane..... Can everyone please forgot this obsession with wind and try to help with realistic questions and solutions?

Kevin, he would be using IAS as referance during the take off roll.

Easy bro. I'm not obsessed. The OP is from the UK, the UK had some pretty crazy weather recently. His weather engine may have produced some unexpected results. I was just throwing it out there as something for the OP to investigate.
