October 30, 201312 yr I have multiple addon scenery like FSDT Dallas Fort Work, FlightBeam KSFO, Chicago O hare, KJFK and KTPA. If I purchase the megascenery earth for those states will it void my scenery? Also I have REX. Will those textures be voided, like the ocean and coast? Josh Scholl

October 30, 201312 yr MSE V2 works great with addon airports, especially FSDT, FlightBeam, TaxiGate, etc. It will void any default and REX textures. Make sure your airport scenery is higher than the MSE scenery in the Scenery Library. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! October 30, 201312 yr Author Is that going to be when I click on the library in fsx and just check the boxes? Josh Scholl
October 30, 201312 yr Is that going to be when I click on the library in fsx and just check the boxes? if you had installed MSE V2 after you have installed your FSDT airports.. you have to go to your scenery settings within FSX and move the listing of MSE V2 to be below your FSDT Airports. Place your cursor on the MSE V2 listing and press the "Move Down: button. Keep doing that until it is below your airports that is within the area covered by the MSE V2. Or find your FSDT Airport and place your cursode there and press the "move button to the right until they are above the MSE V2. and both the FSDT airport and the MSE V2 have to be checked. October 30, 201312 yr MSE will work with Orbx to a certain extent. Anything that ORBX puts on the landscape will show up, except for autogen. This includes their airports and non autogen buildings, etc... Even moving traffic will work if ORBX put it there. I have MSE Washington, and the ORBX Pacidifc NW demo, and as long as I put MSE below ORBX, I get the complete Orbx airport, all non-autogen structures, and moving traffic. Oh, night lights too.
October 30, 201312 yr What about using it with FTXG? Thanks, What's FTXG? (Just kidding?). FTXG works outside of MSE V2 scenery but you have to have the MSE photoscenery layered above the FTXG entry in the Scenery Library. I have MSE V2 Washington State and the Orbx PNW enabled as I like the Orbx KSEA. I do like the Washington State MSE better though. It's just that MSE uses the default airport unless you have a commercial airport installed. Friday Harbor is better with MSE too (but no Autogen). Fscottee above has the answer too! October 30, 201312 yr Wow! you got me there for a second when you didn't know what FTXG is.. I keep getting these special offers from PCA to purchase MSE so I may have to try one. I am a sucker for a sale. October 31, 201312 yr Here is MSE Switzerland combined with openVFR Autogen Switzerland for a poor man's Swiss Pro. Some shots flying around Interlacken. Keep in mind this computer I'm currently using still has an old CRT monitor so the graphics aren't the best. These shots demonstrate why I am so frustrated with MSE and their Switzerland project (see other thread), What I have here is some real-world placed objects thanks to openVFR (only $8 or so), and then I have this miserable MSE Swiss scenery. They could have an exceptional product here, in a joint venture with something like openVFR and make the flying experience much more enjoyable.

As per my reply in the other thread, you can greatly enhance the resolution and clarity of the MSE textures with some minor changes to FSX and graphics settings. But your CRT monitor may have a lower max screen resolution available to it, so this might be as good as it gets on your particular setup? Best regards, Jim I instaleld the demo of Chicago from FSDreamTeam. I do have Mega Scenary 2.0 which I installed first. It looks like all is working well in the demo. However, I also have REX4 texturs installed. The taxiway lights at dawn, dusk, night look like small boxes. 2nd question is does the Add On Manager from Virtuali tweak the global settings of my FSX.CFG? I had gone through the www.venetubo.com tweaks and my FSX on a powerful machine increase in speed dramatically or is this Add On Manager just tweaking Chicat FSDT? Thanks, Abe AMD Threadripper 1950x 16 core, 32GB of RAM, SSD, Liquid Cooled.
May 7, 201412 yr However, I also have REX4 texturs installed. The taxiway lights at dawn, dusk, night look like small boxes. MSE V2 will override any of the REX4 textures. When you fly outside a MSE V2 area, then the REX4 textures will take over. does the Add On Manager from Virtuali tweak the global settings of my FSX.CFG? No. Not unless you request the Add On Manager to tweak your settings. Since you do not own FSDT KORD, I do not think you have the options of changing your FSX settings. The taxiway lights at dawn, dusk, night look like small boxes. This will happen ONLY if you have DX10 Preview enabled. The DX10 Fixer fixes this issue. Lastly, I do not prescribe to venetubo tweaks especially if you have a powerful system. They might have worked well with older systems (think those tweaks are 3 or 4 years old now and have never been updated). The best advice I can give you here is to look at the AVSIM FSX Configuration guide location to the right of this forum under Hot Spots. Hope this helps. May 8, 201412 yr Thanks for the reply. I downloaded kjfk v2 and this issue is not present with DX10 enabled. This may be a Chicago scenery bug. AMD Threadripper 1950x 16 core, 32GB of RAM, SSD, Liquid Cooled.
