I plan on purchasing it and loading it into Prepar3d V3.3. If any issues arise can this neat software package be unistalled?

Greetings! I performed a flight from KBOS to EHAM. The flight was overnight and when I revisited the sim and set the MCP ALT to a lower amount so I can descend via VNAV. I noticed nothing was happening. When I went to the VNAV page I noticed VNAV Alt was set at 8000 and not FL350. All of the preparation work was done using PPFP as I am teaching myself ETOPS operations. Upon further review of the legs page I noticed three waypoints in the start with 8000 for the altitude. Any ideas of why this happened? I reset the VNAV cruise from 8000 to FL350 and then used the MCP ALT and pressed it in to start the VNAV SPD mode for descent. Thank you.

Thanks. Is the lower CLMB thrust selected because it was hot in memphis at 28C?

I had a flight today from KMEM to KHOU in a 777. PPFX/TOPCAT stated the assumed temp is +70C. OAT was 28C. The FMC on the PMDG 777 did not derate to T-01 as Topcat had recommended. I selected T-01. What the FMC did do was switch to CLM2? What are the differences between the left and right columns on the Thrust limit page? What are the differences between the CLMB settings? Thanks.

Diving really deep into the PMDG 777 simulation. Flew a VATSIM flight from ORD to EGLL today and the controller as me to change the STAR. Easy enough, however is there a procedure that will assist in cleaning up the previous start and still using the same transition fix? Thank you.

I figured out why PMDG 777 weather radar was not working. I had to remove the ASNwxRadarPath= path from FSUIPC for my PROSIM737 simulator. Once I started Prepar3D V3.3 with the PMDG 777 loaded the radar kicked in. Is there a way to have my FSUIPC with the ASN radar path working as well. I switch between both aircraft quite often. Bottom line is people comparing this to Fsx Steam addition and stating that LM P3D is for professional use only is wrong. This sim is our Fsx replacement.

What is the performance difference between FL side on and off?

What are your average settings?

When I go to cockpit view and undock the windows my frame rates are 30-50fps. When I go into VC it is 17 fps. This is normal for this program.

From PMDG's website. This is compatible only with Lockheed Martin's Prepar3D. (v2.2.x - v2.4.x)

Great thread. Couple of questions. 1.) I am using Prepar3D with the new PMDG 777 for the sim. 2.) My work flow consists of using PFPX for flighting planning with ASN active for weather data and then exporting it to PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS, PMDG\WX, and Prepar3D V2 Files. 3.) I load the flight plan into the FMC of the PMDG 777, I select Wind Data Request and input the data. 'W' pop up and show the wind information. Questions: 1.) When ASN is live and connected is the WX file updating at the ASN update intervals? 2.) If this is the case and when in mid-flight when I select Wind Data Request again will it update this data?

Should have read this post before purchasing. Same experience as FSX. The core technology of this product is outdated in my opinion. It runs at about 17FPS on average in VC view. I get about 40FPS at cruise using the cockpit view. I then bring up the PFD, MFD, and MCP. I tested my other sim from PROSIM737 and I am getting at least 60-100FPS at cruise and 40-60fps when approaching and airport. Running a GTX970.

Is it just a regular install like FSX?

For me it was not running it as ADMIN. I restarted the APP normally and it worked. Hope this helps someone else that may encounter this error.

I do not see on MegaScenery's website if the purchased states for FSX work with Prepar3D?

Unfortunately, I have to stop purchasing all of the add ons, and I was getting back into FSX with my new powerful PC I built. I could not find a good thread on PMDG and FSUIPC mapping. Has anyone does this with success?

I have the same issue. Curious to know why this problem does not happen with PROSIM737 flight model and their avionics suite? Only happens with my PMDG737NGX.

I am currently flying the PMDG 737 pm FSX. I have noticed at random times in the flight the joystick completely locks up in Virtual cockpit and I have to switch to 2D Cockpit. Is this because the normal wear and tear of the joystick over many years or a software issue? Unplugging the joystick and plugging it back in does not work. It takes a complete restart of FSX for this to happy. I do run in Windowed mode with a 3 monitor set up. I click in and out of the sim like most of us do to access ASN, EFB, charts, etc. Thank you, Abe

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded kjfk v2 and this issue is not present with DX10 enabled. This may be a Chicago scenery bug.

I instaleld the demo of Chicago from FSDreamTeam. I do have Mega Scenary 2.0 which I installed first. It looks like all is working well in the demo. However, I also have REX4 texturs installed. The taxiway lights at dawn,dusk,night look like small boxes. 2nd question is does the Add On Manager from Virtuali tweak the global settings of my FSX.CFG? I had gone through the www.venetubo.com tweaks and my FSX on a powerful machine increase in speed dramatically or is this Add On Manager just tweaking Chicat FSDT? Thanks, Abe

If in VNAV mode. when the ALT INTV is pressed and an altitude is selected how do you go back to VNAV PATH? I have to deselect VNAV and reengage and make sure the MCP ALT is higher. Thanks, Abe
