November 10, 201312 yr Just starting doing some flights in the PMDG T7 and for some reason when you select your arrival runway it looks like you've locked on but clearly the ILS frequency isn't the one that is associated w/ that runway in FSX, so you are unable to lock on to the LOC or GS. It seems like installing the latest FMC data from Navigraph wouldn't affect this, or would it? Forgive my ignorance on this topic and any help is appreciated. November 10, 201312 yr I'm not positive either but I believe the PMDG planes, if tuned to the ILS freq found in the RW it won't work because of the old FSX database. Obviously the T7 can create a vertical path based on VNAV etc. I had this problem in the NGX. At KSFO ILS28R is different today vs FSX 2006 data. I had to tune to the freq listed in FSX map view to get the ILS on the NGX. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
November 10, 201312 yr I don't own the T7, but I got the NGX and if I'm not mistaken it has an option for the MCDU to use the frequencies from your AFCADS rather than from the AIRAC. I can't remember the exact option name tho. Have a look in the FMC, it's under the PMDG page somewhere vatsim s3
November 11, 201312 yr Author FSX data is almost a decade old!! Well sure, but why then doesn't someone, like Navigraph, offer a utility that updates FSX's data so that FMC & FSX match 100%? Maybe P3D 2.0 will solve this. I have my own way of using FSX and have never understood the need/value for updating the latest AIRAC cycle as I know all I need to have is getting the FMC to match what FSX utilizes. Not going to happen. It's not just a file you can swap out every month. Every VOR, NDB, ILS, etc is tied into FSX using scenery BGL files. You're talking about altering and modifying literally thousands of scenery files, which is a HUGE undertaking that will probably never happen. You can get proper ILS frequencies by searching the library for airport scenery for the airports you are flying into. The scenery may have the right frequencies. Or, you can download ADE and create your own AFCAD file with new ILS frequencies to match the real world. Devin CYOW
November 11, 201312 yr I don't think there are that many changes, except for RNAV stuff that was still kind of new. scott s. .

November 11, 201312 yr Unless you are flying on places like Vatsim, you dont need updated navdata, but they still include it for whatever reason. Use the FSX MAP option to get what you need. Jay
November 11, 201312 yr Hi! Try this, it will solve your problem. http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html tapatalk sony xperia e

November 11, 201312 yr to update the ils you will have to edit the airport BGL and correct teh frequency. 5 min job. It isnt hard. Free editor here
November 11, 201312 yr This is what I talked about in another topic. FSX defalt db is old and not in sync with up to date AIRAC cycle. I'd like, time permitting, to write down a little app the allow you to search onto your FSX db the proper ILS FSX defalt frequency when near airport destination. I have the same annoing problem, many ils are not up to date and if you want that ILS works you shold switch to old fsx ils freq. Is impossible to update in one shot all ils freqquencis with a tool like navigraph, we have to maintan old feequencies or update one byone manually. So I'd like to write this app that could read into FSX database and pickup "wrong" fsx default freqs just for landing purpose. Sounds like what I am asking for, a utility that syncs airport BGL to AIRAC cycle. I guess the demand is just not there because if you can do this manually it could be programmed in a utility.
