That's just a disclaimer because manufacturer wants to be on safe side, and to prevent potential hilarious lawsuit trolls.

It says AND

You actually put in danger all people onboard when you decided it's enough to just switch your camera to "airplane mode". Shame on you.

You, mgh, and my wife...all get a "NO!"

You need to understand what the camera does:

If you just switch the camera off, it leaves the GPS on.

You need to put it into [Airplane Mode] first, then switch it off.

If you are using it, just switch off the GPS.

There are commas so the instruction means what it says.

" .. , set [GPS setting] to [Off] or set [Airplane Mode] to [On], and then turn off the camera"

What follows the and applies to everything between the commas. If it were not so there'd be no need for the last comma.

EDIT: I'm afraid you don't understand your computer. The Panasonic manual explains that even if the camera is switched off the GPS can still drain power from the battery.

The purpose of the instructions you quoted are to ensure the GPS is off and not draining power. The instructions also explain that there are two ways to do this - either set [GPS Settings] to [OFF] OR set [Airplane Mode] to [ON]. Having done one OR the other the camera may be switched off.

sounds to me like you need to take a walk mate. "My strong need to" followed by some psychological rant.....LOL

Anyhow....Here is another I just posted this morning....Landing in Queenstown:

And I am 100% positive that the FAA won't be doing a Kim Dotcom style raid on my house for doing this and I am greatful I don't live in your world mate.....have a great day. Cheers

I did one better. I didn't just take a hike, I went flying.

So if I made an announcement into the cabin to ask everybody to turn their devices off for today's takeoff, you'd tell me to take a hike again?

Considering how much this thread has got you bent out of shape I would have serious reservations about getting on an aircraft with you in the first place.

Buddy you're the one who started to tell people to go take hikes. Anyways, are you going to answer the question or are we done? Either way, cheers.

Kevin, I told you to go take a walk because if anyone seriously gets that bent out of shape as you are over a thread on a Flight Sim forum in an area called Hanger Chat then I don't know what to say to you....You've never even met me or seen me or even know anything about me and yet what I say bothers you so much on a thread for you to go on a rant like you did? No sweat off my back at all. I go on here for entertainment purposes and I find you very entertaining at this point, so keep it up, this is fun

And I did answer your question, There would never be any situation where I would ever be on an airplane with you in the first place so your hypothetical question would never even happen in the first place,

Back on topic.....Here is one showing a landing at Hong Kong Airport....Cheers

I only explained to you aspects of your thinking that is plainly evident in your position. There really wasn't any reason for you to get upset about it enough to tell me to take a hike. I find this quite entertaining as well, being a former debater.

Nah, that is a sidestep. So if your someotherguy pilot told the cabin to turn off their devices for takeoff, would you comply?

You obviously know the answer to that......NO

So you'd disobey an instruction from the aircraft's crew?

So you are willing to endanger the lives of a hundred people so that you can be a scofflaw. So you are going to refuse to comply while the plane you yourself is sitting in is hurtling 150kts down a dark and foggy runway with only 300 feet of forward visibility with the pilots depending on a left/right cue on their HUD that depends on clean reception of the ILS signal to keep the plane straight on the runway. You do realize one wrong flick of the display leading to one wrong twitch of the pilot's feet on the pedals and the plane could be in the dirt and wrapped up into a ball?

This is so laughable and all you are doing is repeating what has been said in this thread already...."being a former debater" you say??? this is called  :t0152:

Just so we are still on topic...Watch this video, you can almost see the Eletromagnetic Energy emiting all the way through the flight deck

None of our passengers laughed when we asked them pointedly to make sure that they had all their devices turned off the other morning before we did exactly this type of takeoff in pea soup fog before dawn.

And yet you still cannot show me any evidence of when a camera has caused an incident to an aircraft when I can show you millions of takeoff and landing videos on Youtube posted from the Cabin and Flight Deck. Also as been mentioned lots of airlines already allow you to film landings and takeoffs and some don't. So your entire argument doesn't hold any credibility other then an ego ranting over a flightsim forum.

I also question you being a pilot because if you were a pilot as you claim then I am not sure what your employer thinks of you debating on a Flight Sim forum with hobbists which also makes me seriously doubt your credibility......I am not a pilot but a hobbyist and self employed so no problem here.
