January 18, 201412 yr So there I was, about 300 miles out from Moscow, cruising along in the 777. Looks a bit cloudy up ahead. Oh no, turbulence... Then, without warning, an horrendous row, akin to being bombarded by a truck load of BB's . At first I blamed my on-board motherboard sound, or perhaps it was my speakers? But no, it transpired that I was actually experiencing hail, courtesy of Active Sky Next. Every time I fly with ASN, I am blown away. Thanks Hifi, thanks for reinvigorating my interest in FSX.
January 18, 201412 yr I believe "Row" is a sound akin to machine gun fire. I have to get ASN, everything I hear about it is astonishing! Thanks, Kevin L
January 18, 201412 yr ASN is really fantastic! Between the accurate cloud placement and weather injection... It's amazing. I have popped into small rain clouds to get hit my rain and turbulence, then popped out to clear blue with no turbulence and rain. You really have to prepare yourself when flying thorough weather and clouds in a GA aircraft. January 18, 201412 yr A 'row' pronounced 'raʊ' is a mainly UK English terms referring to a loud noise or a noisy argument. Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
January 18, 201412 yr Commercial Member ASN is indeed great. Once I flew into an African thunderstorm front, it was amazing sight to see all those clouds appear in the distance just as expected... After descending into it the turbulence was just crazy, better than I've ever experienced. It seemed to be too much for CS 767 autopilot to handle, I had to disconnect it and force the aircraft to descend using manual input. Later I almost flew into a mountain as ATC assigned me into non-ILS runway and I wasn't very familiar with the mountainous terrain surrounding Kigali airport.

January 18, 201412 yr I have to agree with you Martin. The first time I heard the sound of hail hitting the aircraft, I thought my computer was freezing up on me, but to my amazement it was ASN providing me some realism. I'm hooked! Dylan Charles "The aircraft G-limits are only there in case there is another flight by that particular airplane. If subsequent flights do not appear likely, there are no G-limits."
January 18, 201412 yr Author Thanks. Never heard of the term before. That's twice in two days now. I totally foxed someone yesterday with the word "pong".
January 18, 201412 yr And for all you Yanks who can't speak proper English, A pong is a smell - usually not a very nice one.
