January 9, 200521 yr Hi all,Is Radar Contact a good ATC program for FS2004, also does it talk to AI planes as well? Should I get it if I'm sick of default ATC?Thanks,Jeff USAF Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
January 9, 200521 yr Radar Contact is much more complete than native FS9, but the current version, 3.1, has minimal connectivity to AI planes. Version 4.0, due out sometime this new year we hope, will have enhanced control of AI planes. Consult the Radar Contact forum for details, what few are available so far.Randy Jura, KPDX
January 9, 200521 yr Hi Jeff,As a member of the Radar Contact beta team, I will tell you that you will be very pleased with the upcoming Version 4. Having said that, the current version of Radar Contact is so much improved over FS ATC. FS ATC is a joke compared to Radar Contact.Look forward to having you join our happy cusotmers :-)Bob JohnsonKDEN
January 10, 200521 yr Can I give my ATC commands by voice in Radar contact.I hate using keyboard while flying..and moreover.. the ATC window blocks... I can't even move it to my second monitor.. whats up with that? Thanks. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
January 10, 200521 yr You will SOON Manny. I have one on the way which I named FS Speak that works with the default ATC so you can respond with your voice just as in real life and NOT have to respond with trained voice keypresses. I am just trying to finish up my FS Remote Control which I will post along with my FS2004 Night Time Fixes on a new website hopefully sometime within this week.Carmine http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/Images/wave.gif
January 11, 200521 yr Manny,Give VoxATC a try... it might be just what you are looking for.www.voxatc.comZane Dr Zane Gard Sr Staff Reviewer AVSIM Private Pilot ASEL since 1986 IFR 2010 AOPA 00915027 American Mensa 100314888
January 11, 200521 yr "VoxATC is not an adventure generator it runs outside FS2004 as a separate process."Mine works with all the built in ATC inside of Flight Simulator. I also don't know how much Vox ATC is.Carmine http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/Images/wave.gif
January 11, 200521 yr Hi Sorry if this has already been answered but will there be proper spacing of ai aircraft on approach and landing so we don't get the current planes landing on top of each other and also the 'go-around' all the time. I7-10700F RTX 3070 32 Gig Ram
January 11, 200521 yr My program is setup to respond to the built in ATC. I will have to take a look at getting the spacing & go-arounds fixed.Carmine http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/Images/wave.gif
January 11, 200521 yr That's great news about RC. I've been saving my pennies for the new version. It already is my top priority; and if it deals more intelligently with the AI it will be indispensible. Mike
January 12, 200521 yr I have it and use it occasionally. It is great for airliner type flying, but 20 mile downwinds in non-airliner IFR (i.e. light twins ect.) gets a bit tedious. CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro | GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K
January 12, 200521 yr Hi Mike, Just a reminder about a feature of RC that allows you to ask for a "short final" so you don't get stuck with that 20 mile downwind. :-) At present, the AI handling in RC ver 4 is very good and they get the GA instead of you!Best, Rob
January 12, 200521 yr Author >Manny,>>Give VoxATC a try... it might be just what you are looking>for.>www.voxatc.com>>ZaneZane, do you know if it works with WideFS on a networked PC since it is a separate process that interacts with FSUIPC?
