January 28, 201412 yr Ummmmm...In fact I have made several Chinese airports before. Namely Hongqiao 虹桥, Xiamen厦门, and some others like Changchun长春, Haikou海口, Guiyang贵阳. Since I am not a professional 3D modeller, the quality may vary from so-so to poor. But it's better than nothing. You could search my username on x-plane.org and x-plane.org.cn (the latter one is the forum for X-Planers in China) to get my airports. Also, many "X-Plane ancestors" has done a great job in Chinese scenery packages. I could still remember the Hongqiao and Pudong package by snowbird in XP9 years, and ZULS Lhasa by AndrooC. BTW some X-Planers in China and I have started some new projects. Like ZBAA Beijing Capital, ZSPD Shanghai Pudong and ZGGG Guangzhou Baiyun - all freeware. Progress is rather slow due to our personal life but we look forward to the final release. Some WIP screenshots attached. BTW, what are those aircraft addons in the shots? Zicheng Cai
January 30, 201412 yr Shane- They are darn good as freeware! BTW, what are those aircraft addons in the shots? Hi Cai, thanks for your attention and kind words. About the aircraft addons: the A320 is JarDesign's A320neo featuring a great 3D cockpit and custom MCDU; the 777 is an early beta of Zroman's 777 (now he has formed a group called FSXP. Zroman previously had some issues about copyright violation but later he got the permission from the FS original author to convert FS planes into XPX so he got his reputation back). The big Airbuses (A343 and A332) are legal conversion of Thomas Ruth's Airbus series by XPP (X-Plane Paintshop) , but unfortunately the XPP group recently announced its abandoning all projects. ----- BTW it's Chinese New Year today. So wish you and all AVSIM members a great new year. "新年快乐" Zhe Jin (aka ShaneMontoya) Aviation enthusiast from Shanghai. February 6, 201412 yr Author Besides the default camera tool, are there anything like EZDok at all? I am looking for the feature of preset camera angle, do we have anything like that for XPX? Brendan Chen Learning to use and getting use to FSX!
February 6, 201412 yr Besides the default camera tool, are there anything like EZDok at all? I am looking for the feature of preset camera angle, do we have anything like that for XPX? The default does all that.
February 6, 201412 yr Author The default does all that. Ah ok, any suggestions on what I should be looking for or how to set specific camera presets? I'm not sure what I should be keying in for search Brendan Chen Learning to use and getting use to FSX!

I'm not sure what I should be keying in for search To set your camera position it's as easy as Ctrl+Num X or Shift+ Num X I cannot remember which. To go to your camera position simply press Num X. February 6, 201412 yr Author To set your camera position it's as easy as Ctrl+Num X or Shift+ Num X I cannot remember which. To go to your camera position simply press Num X. That's cool! I'll try that when I get home! Thanks! Brendan Chen Learning to use and getting use to FSX!
February 9, 201412 yr That's cool! I'll try that when I get home! Thanks! Pilot View is a great plugin to add and manage camera views if you use TrackIR. You could have a look to HeadShake plugin as well to add head movements and shaking effects to landing and taxiing. Riccardo Viecca
February 9, 201412 yr Pilot View is a great plugin to add and manage camera views if you use TrackIR. You could have a look to HeadShake plugin as well to add head movements and shaking effects to landing and taxiing. I've been wondering what does Pilotview offer over the default camera controls?
February 9, 201412 yr Since the Quickview system was introduced in XP10, Pilotview's most useful to TrackIR users. If you don't use TIR just use Quickview, and the Headshake plugin is also recommended. I don't believe PV works with the latter; it definitely isn't compatible with the head shake built in to in the A320 Neo.
February 9, 201412 yr Author So I assume QuickView is the default camera system in XP10? Brendan Chen Learning to use and getting use to FSX!
February 10, 201412 yr So I assume QuickView is the default camera system in XP10? Yep. See http://developer.x-plane.com/2012/07/the-views-updates-to-a-very-important-system/ Zicheng Cai
February 17, 201412 yr Author Sloping runway is an amazing invention and it's great that XPX has it. However, I've tried to get what I consider as essential addon and installed the ZSSS scenery. This looks a little over doesn't it? Is it scenery specific or have I installed other Mesh HD etc that doesn't work? Any suggestions on how to overcome this at all? Cheers, Brendan Chen Learning to use and getting use to FSX!
