Why do xplane payware addons Keeps dissapointing me
I always believe that "60 dollars" is the benchmark for payware aircraft quality. >60 dollars, study level; <60 dollar, no study level. I think the majority of FSX/P3D based simmers will accept that (due to the PMDG pricing policy 69.95 for ngx). But X-Plane payware aircrafts don't follow the rule, which confuses a great number of FSX/P3D users who wants to try X-Plane. In their mind, payware aircrafts in X-Plane charging 60.95 should be on par with FSX counterparts, but in fact, "NO". Looking at those 60$ payware aircrafts in X-Plane market, can they compete with their FSX competitors in the FlightSim market? I don't think so. Unstable FMC is ruining the reputation. Payware developers really need to re-think their pricing policies, when their products are not as great as PMDG or IXEG. We all know that your developing an aircraft is hard work and you indeed need to feed yourselves, but please, also consider the market acceptance - X-Plane add-on market is not solely independent, and X-Plane add-on will directly compete with FSX counterparts. If the product is study level, then your charging 60$ or even over 100$ will have little impact; but when the product is incomplete in major parts but still with a 60$ price, then not only your reputation but also the reputation of the whole X-Plane community will get ruined. BTW the developers will never make big money. Then talking about the 330. I have mentioned numerous times about its ND drawing and FMGC operation at Jar's forum, their fb and .org, but no official reply, which really upsets me. And for those "reviews": a number of those are biased. Only positive points but no neutral opinion. It's ridiculous to see all positive rates for those half baked projects.

SSG E-Jets 170 Evo
SSG is deleting "negative" posts. http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/105845-questions-and-answers/&page=2 ---------- Hi , not several just a people that published offensive posts into the thread created to a certain kind. Be offensive and do not respect the Devs , is not the good way to go. I deleted some post not any otter people or member from SSG. Please keep the good talk and we certain will keep too. ---------- If I recall correctly, someone in the E-jets sub-forum has posted lots of information about how an E-jet should operate, which is of great reference for us to have a better look on E-jets. IMHO that's also positive criticism that can help improve the product. But his posts all gets DISAPPEARED. What we can find is the quote left. http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/105850-your-comments-to-improve-ssg-products/&do=findComment&comment=1044894 I don't know if the poor guy was the one that Ricardo mentioned. I did own SSG 747-8, but from now on I will never buy their products.

P3D 64 bit status
Agreed. But seems that someone in this thread has repeatedly bashing other platforms which gives me a feeling that "That particular platform is the king and the others are rubbish". -------------- Now back to the topic. I am among those who support 64bit. Bigger memory, bigger joy. But... 1. IMHO LM will consider move P3D into 64bit when the majority of P3D users have the need for 64bit. 2. I am not sure the proportion of "Academic license" users among all P3D users, but I believe nearly all "entertainment" users of P3D acquire "Academic" verison (sorry just speculation but no scientific stats. Feel free to challenge me if I am wrong). I also believe that these "entertainment" usage will require tons of VAS-hungry addons. If the Academic license users share the largest P3D user base, then 1+2 should be correct. That means the "entertainment" usage has the biggest need for 64bit. Then EULA becomes a serious question. ----------------------- If the majority of P3D users are goverments, aviation industry users and military customers, then it's up to their need. Will they all install Orbx, REX, PMDG and other VAS-hungry monsters or they develop their own addons? I don't know. I only know that we have little influence on these giant companies/LM making the change. Just my two cents.

I need advice for FPS in 10.50 please
I can also confirm the stutters in 10.50b4 when zooming in/out and pan my view points around using "shift"+",","." or arrow keys, after I changed my view in free mode. I tried "deleting" (not disabling) all 3rd party plugins and loading default C172, but the stutters remained. I used to have "world detail distance" to very high in 10.45@1920*1080 resolution with 4xHDR, and my fps remained around 30-40 with little stutters. But now I have reduced my "world detail distance" to MEDIUM and HDR to 2x but the stutters become worse. I have submitted a bug report with log.txt and will wait for the new beta. My PC spec: i5-4430, 16GB RAM, GTX 970 with 4G VRAM. --------- But as an old Chinese saying goes, "Bad luck always comes with some hidden good luck"("祸兮福之所伏" - Chinese learning time:-P). The stutters stop me from flying temporarily - then I can spare those time in finishing my airport scenery project again.

JARDesign Airbus A340. That's Right!
Well said deetee. Totally agree. What's even worse IMHO is that, usually customers will pay 60USD for one of those "half-baked" projects - that's almost the "common" price for top-notch FS-based counterparts (PMDG ngx base package 69.99USD). It's hard to understand that some X-Plane developers say something like" X-Plane market is different from FS market since X-Plane market has smaller size of audience". IMHO both X-Plane market and FS market belong to flight simulation market, and the prices of projects from both platforms should be in the same level according to the quality.

Jar A330 released
Though lacking some advanced features in MCDU (like ALTN FPLN and so on), the A330 by JARDesign is still a great airplane to have.

PMDG's XPlane 10 Development Fact Thread [Updated 25NOV13]
Some preview screenshots would be nice, though PMDG always "shows something which is done" Looking forward to the first X-Plane product from PMDG

Which Airbus should I purchase?
Jar's A320neo is a must-have for XPX at the current version IMHO. It will bring you a well-modeled and -textured 3D cockpit and a functional FMGS which you can update its nav data from Aerosoft or Navigraph. The overall "immersion" is great. You can have more info on their official website. http://airbus320neo.com/

What do you consider as essential addons for XPX?
Hi Cai, thanks for your attention and kind words. About the aircraft addons: the A320 is JarDesign's A320neo featuring a great 3D cockpit and custom MCDU; the 777 is an early beta of Zroman's 777 (now he has formed a group called FSXP. Zroman previously had some issues about copyright violation but later he got the permission from the FS original author to convert FS planes into XPX so he got his reputation back). The big Airbuses (A343 and A332) are legal conversion of Thomas Ruth's Airbus series by XPP (X-Plane Paintshop) , but unfortunately the XPP group recently announced its abandoning all projects. ----- BTW it's Chinese New Year today. So wish you and all AVSIM members a great new year. "新年快乐"

Ummmmm...In fact I have made several Chinese airports before. Namely Hongqiao 虹桥, Xiamen厦门, and some others like Changchun长春, Haikou海口, Guiyang贵阳. Since I am not a professional 3D modeller, the quality may vary from so-so to poor. But it's better than nothing. You could search my username on x-plane.org and x-plane.org.cn (the latter one is the forum for X-Planers in China) to get my airports. Also, many "X-Plane ancestors" has done a great job in Chinese scenery packages. I could still remember the Hongqiao and Pudong package by snowbird in XP9 years, and ZULS Lhasa by AndrooC. BTW some X-Planers in China and I have started some new projects. Like ZBAA Beijing Capital, ZSPD Shanghai Pudong and ZGGG Guangzhou Baiyun - all freeware. Progress is rather slow due to our personal life but we look forward to the final release. Some WIP screenshots attached. Beijing Capital 北京首都机场 Shanghai Pudong 上海浦东机场 Guangzhou Baiyun 广州白云机场

What do you consider as essential addons for XPX?
AFAIK there is no global texture enhancements for XPX, unlike Orbx FTX Global for FSX. I came across Maxx-XP Series some time ago - they are enhancements for particular textures, like urbanMaxx for urban textures, something like that. About the 727. One of the best 3D cockpit effects in XPX addons IMO. I am not a RL pilot but the feel of flying 727 is simple, direct and smooth. No custom FMC for 727, but a 10$ INS plugin is available. Edit: From my knowledge, SMP features a custom weather engine (named Silverlining?) which override the default XPX weather engine. What's more the custom engine don't apply XPX stock cloud/puff textures, but textures in the Silverlight folder itself instead.Thank you ohsirus for your info about the SMP :drinks: . More info can be found here Hope words above could do some help. MJ

What do you consider as essential addons for XPX?
Sorry I am not a native speaker  ------ With SkyMaxxPro I believe you still need to tweak some of the features you want, according to your hardware. It's like a weather enhancement programme IMHO. You will find a UI of SMP inside the game where you can choose/tweak how it draws the weather. ------ Then something about the add-on planes: JarDesign's A320neo is a great plane, lacking some features (like ALTN Route) but enough for a normal flight operation; Peter's A320/A321 series feature great FBW system but without most of the decent eye-candies (I mean 3D cockpit and FMGC) I would like to give 4.999/5 to FlightFactor's 777 and 757, which have deep system simulation. Not only because they are the top-class add-on planes for XPX at present, but they also shows what XPX can simulate, to a really high standard. If I could find PMDG-quality textures in their cockpits, I will give those two planes a 5/5.:-P I don't have the LES Saab 340A so I cannot judge it. But I see lots of positive comments on it. Also the coming 737Classic by IXEG looks very promising. ------ Sceneries: Beti-X Stewart - simply FANTASTIC! Also airports from Truscenery are great. Also lots of freeware sceneries on major XPX portals like x-plane.org, x-pilot.com and smaller ones like xpfr.org
