Not for Entertainment...

Recommended Posts

As I peruse the list to the left of all the actual aircraft Lockheed has produced, its just ironic to see P3d ( f.n.a. FSX ) in the mx holding down the virtual skies!  Lol! While we crave the next add-on, this company is producing the next multi-million dollar x aircraft!  Thank heaven's for training! As long as they can keep improving the simulation and continue to make it inclusive to non military, I'm good with that for sure.

I never fly with a smile on my face... just in case :P

Or should I get really paranoid, I quickly show my young son a fine set of wings, say the word 'aerofoil' and suddenly its an educational application.

FSX/P3D is more like a vocation than entertainment :)

Is there a revision EULA in the works? But even if that's the case, though it may make for interesting discussion, what's most important is what LM is doing.

Clearly, the stage is set. The main purpose of the p3d is training... and I would think that Lockheed takes training seriously. But that's where it gets interesting... the fact that they've chosen fsx (variant) as their platform of choice, has great potential. It also speaks to what fsx has been able to achieve to allow it to serve Lockheed 's purpose/vision. How p3d will grow is now what I'm curious about.

The EULA discussion again ... so let me ask you this, if I was entertained while also learning something new am I in violation?  Further more, what test equipment should I use to identify if there was any vestiges of entertainment flowing thru my brain or in my blood?  Is the entertainment a DNA strand I can identify and remove/suppress with drugs or should I seek the help of a Vulcan?

I'm not being serious, oh no, I can see the lawyers lining up outside my door ... knock knock ... who's there ... an entertainment lawyer ... so if I let you in, am I entertaining you?  I'm so confused!

Lol..

I hope this will not collapse into an EULA discussion as I believe we are way past that if we were able to make the purchase.

And though I entitled the thread as such, please do not think I for one am having an ounce less fun because of an EULA or the premise of training. Rather, understanding that training is simple the discipline of adhering to higher standards.... , that's really what I'm curious about.

As a comparison... DCS also has a platform for the training specifically for the military... But they also produce titles for entertainment. LM's approach is more open and inclusive but for pro vs academic. But that also could allow the core program to be enhanced and fruits "enjoyed" across the board.... So I'm curious.

.... Where is that patch?
