PMDG 777 - PFD Display problem

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Hope everybody is doing good.

I have question regarding PFD screens in PMDG 777. Despite setting to ultra graphics, and everything around in the cabin and scenery looking absolutely stunning the screens themselves are always flickering (low textures).

Even the default FSX planes have super smooth PFD screens (at the same graphics settings) but  not PMDG 777.  is this a known issue ? or am I missing something ?

I play FSX on DX10, turning that off didn't help either.

Help !

Please check whether "High Definition 3D Cockpit" is checked in your FSX Settings.

it is checked. As I said everything else in the plane is of STUNNING quality. from textures to shadows, no flickering or anything.  In cold and dark I can even see some dust on PFD Screens absolute beauty.

it's only the numbers/info on the screens itself that is the problem and only in PMDG777 , not in any other addon or default fsx plane.

If I zoom in near to the displays, they look OKAY but not from a pilot cam :/

Any workaround in graphics settings etc ?

Change it from: "Enhance Application Setting" to "Override Application Setting" and untick Anti Aliasing from your FSX Options.

Are you using an ENB or SweetFX File?

Intel HD Graphic? I think i had this also until i uncheked FXAA and set AF to x16

Intel HD Graphic?

I think those show up with modern i Core processors from intel. Worth making sure FS is actually using the proper one.

I have noticed the same thing on my PFD, it is difficult to read small numbers like QNH, or MDA/DH without zooming.

DX10 doesn't allow you to use external AA, if I recall correctly.

Zoomed that far out from the instruments, it is no wonder nothing is clear. That must be like a .40. Try .70 or .80 and pan if you want want to see some instrument in the center or right of the panel.

Yeah, I think there was some restriction on AA somehow in DX10.  I forget the specifics.

Either way, I'm with Michael, above.  If your zoom level is extreme (lower than about 0.7), you'll get weird artifacts like that simply as a matter of resolution differences.
