Want to Double your FPS and Free VAS!

It is a modified windowed mode from what I understand.

FYI, Window or Full Screen should not make any difference to performance or VAS in P3DV2.1.

But thanks for posting, I'm sure there are people with similar hardware that could benefit from your info.  Watch out for the Veggie slider ... this is one case were vegetables are not good for you ;)

Cheers, Rob.

I quite liked your settings, Rob. My p3d2 is running quite smooth and crisp. I didnt have too big of a problem with VAS to begin with (modest veg settings), now it is even better :)

Im running on a gtx690 with the latest drivers btw.

Maybe it has to do with the cards we are using.  Maybe the 600 series cards are affected in a different way? I dunno, just can't argue with the results.

I have used NI with P3D v2.1

and would like to try the advise given in this thread. How do I disable NI without completely deleting it?

Thanks?

I just exported the P3D profile and then deleted it from NVI. After testing you just import the saved profile and you're back in business.

How are you getting VAS readings?  Some read Free vas others read Used VAS...

Hi

I am using process explorer-sysinternal.

Thanks

Most likely the only reason for improved performance was that the Nvidia profile you had been using before (whether modified with Nvidia Inspector or the default Nvidia control panel, it doesn't matter) was probably set with too demanding of anti aliasing settings causing your FPS to be too low. When updating to the new drivers you cleared out the old profiles and thus the settings that were hurting your performance. So the fix isn't "magical"  it's just you reset your driver profile settings.

New drivers have not done anything for us performance wise for quite a long time now. These days, new driver revisions are mostly to add functionality like Adaptive vsync, FXAA etc, and support for new games (AAA titles like Tomb Raider, Battlefield 4, etc.)

LOL Just posted something similar on the Orbx forum where someone hailed the newest driver which did wonders for his sim. ^_^

Rob, using your settings AA looks very good on my setup.

Still have the slightly pulsating runway lines seen at a distance though.

Not seeing much difference in VAS.
