March 16, 201412 yr I'm using an AIRAC cycle from I think late 2012 or early 2013 (this is because I downloaded charts for around 80 airports from Navigraph, and I want to use the charts I have and not replace them all with a new cycle) I've noticed a strange problem when I try and use LEMD (Madrid Barajas) in the FMC When I enter LEMD as my destination, I get the following error message in the FMC: Then when I try to select an approach runway and STAR for LEMD, I get nothing in the FMC whatsoever. No runways, no STARs, nothing. So this essentially means I can't set up an approach into Madrid. Very annoying! Does anyone know what is causing this? My guess is that there's something corrupt or something that it doesn't like in the data contained within the AIRAC for LEMD which is making it unreadable. Any help greatly appreciated.
March 16, 201412 yr Hi, My guess is your AIRAC cycle is severally out of date? Where is your AIRAC cycle from you currently have ? My advice would be to update your Navigraph subscription, I appreciate you have to pay but it's worth it? And isn't that expensive. I've got a subscription for them and have the current AIRAC cycle. Hope this is helpful? Regards Jason Jason Thompson
March 16, 201412 yr @up did you even read his post? @to op: this is weird indeed, I'd say this cycle has something broken or it's corrupted file - did you try to reinstall it? Tomasz Zawadzki

LEMD existed at the time and therefore will have data relating to it in the cycle, it will just be as it was at that point in time (which is fine because it matches my scenery and charts for LEMD) @up did you even read his post? @to op: this is weird indeed, I'd say this cycle has something broken or it's corrupted file - did you try to reinstall it? No I haven't tried a reinstall, I will check the Aerosoft Airbus and see if it's just an issue in the NGX first!
March 16, 201412 yr Ok let us know about the outcome but even if it is just in ngx than reinstalling airac would be a good idea Tomasz Zawadzki

Mephic, I was merely trying to be helpful and maybe offer a suggestion, though I wasn't 100% sure. Next time I won't respond and won't try to help ! And yes I did read the post !! again " I wasn't 100% sure " Jason Thompson

What aircraft are you flying? Did you purchase a subscription from Navigraph to download Airac aircraft Navdata? No, but most charts are updated with every AIRAC cycle are they not? I'm using the AIRAC cycle that corresponds to the charts I have for around 70-80 payware airport addons, and there's no reason why using an outdated AIRAC cycle should be a problem, at the time I installed the cycle it was the very latest one, and none of my scenery has changed since then so using the older cycle shouldn't present any problems surely?
March 16, 201412 yr What aircraft are you flying? Where did you get your current aircraft Airac Cycle from? What is the path to the folder on your PC contains the Navigraph Airac cycle? Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
March 16, 201412 yr You have an airac that is so out of date it has the wrong runways. There has been no runway 15 since 2012 - current runways are 14L 32R / 14R 32L and 18L 36R / 18R 36L William Hall

I had consulted Flight Sim Commander which does not use current airport runway data .. rather installed airport AFCAD data. Sorry, it was my error. William's post is correct. March 16, 201412 yr Why would one use outdated navdata with current maps or vice versa for all that matters. The OP question doesn't make sense to me?
March 16, 201412 yr Those are out of date like the other guy said.. They are now 14L/R Ryan, You are correct ... I edited my previous post. Thanks for the help. Why would one use outdated navdata with current maps or vice versa for all that matters. The OP question doesn't make sense to me? As far as I can tell .. the OP thinks downloading charts from Navigraph is updating his Navdata (SID/STARs) for an unknown (his) aircraft type. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
March 16, 201412 yr Author Ryan, You are correct ... I edited my previous post. Thanks for the help. As far as I can tell .. the OP thinks downloading charts from Navigraph is updating his Navdata (SID/STARs) for an unknown (his) aircraft type. No, that's not what I meant....I know that the Navdata and the charts are two seperate things, but seeing as I got them all at the same time they should be in sync with one another. I am using the August 2012 AIRAC cycle from Navigraph in both aircraft I fly (Aerosoft Airbus and NGX) I also have charts for my 70-80 payware airports from the same cycle, so everything should be in perfect sync I don't have a charts subscription, so if I change the AIRAC cycle to the most recent one, all of my charts are outdated and I have to pay per airport to download new charts unless I take out an annual subscription. Seeing as I've added almost new scenery since this AIRAC cycle it made sense to me to continue to use the older AIRAC cycle and charts, as it should all match up to how my sim was at that point in time (and basically still is, with the exception of a couple of airports I've added recently) The charts I have for LEMD from this cycle have RWY 14R and 14L, so why would the AIRAC cycle have 15L and 15R, as surely the charts and AIRAC data should agree? My sim shows RWY 14L and 14R, my charts show RWY 14L and 14R so I'm confused as to why my Navdata doesn't agree when it's all supposedly from the same cycle.
