Aerosoft EIDW (Dublin) released

Featured Replies

its really heavy on fps.I got a 3770k 4,5 ghz and a gtx780

10-15 fps with traffic

I have a 3570k at 4.4Ghz and have come to accept that at the busiest airports, if I want good eye candy (far right sliders) and lots of AI traffic, this is pretty normal.

UK2000 LHR/Aerosoft CDG I get around 12-13 FPS in the VC with the NGX with high AI traffic density and 2048 clouds.

I've been looking forward to this. I generally set traffic to 25% airline, 5 GA. Hopefully I'll get good performance.

Cheers,

Jude, what are your overall impressions? This one is definitely on the must-have list! Do you use FTX IRL also, if so how is the blending?

First impressions are good, nice runways ;)  17-25 fps Not using FTX Global only managed to get one flight in today (married)

System specs: Windows 11  Pro 64-bit, Ubuntu Linux 20.04 i7-13700KF  Gigabyte Z790 RTX-4060-Ti , 32GB RAM  1X 2TB M2 for X-Plane 12,  1x256GB SSD for OS. 1TB drive MSFS2020

Anyone have a problem getting this ordered?  I ordered this for use in P3DV2.x, and got confirmation of order but sadly no download link or serial number.  Contact support but no response so far ... odd, Aerosoft have been pretty good in the past about orders.

Oh well, just have to wait and see ...

Rob,

I've had this before when using paypal.  Until paypal confirm everything I've had to wait.  Using credit card though I've not had an issue.

Just a thought mate.

Hey Rob,

Just as a head's up this is something to send directly to support at support(at)aerosoft(dot)com, if you have not already. The forums can't take care of issues like that as easily so want to make sure you get sorted. Like Hirdy suggested it may be a paypal issue, seems to have been happening with more frequency the past few months.

Regards,

Kyle

There are some staff over in their forums now that helped me out with an issue within a minute.

Try now to see if they can assist.

This scenery has permormance issues. I'm having huge stuttering and fps in the low 20s/high 10s while at other mega airports (e.g. Aerosoft Oslo V2, Dusseldorf, Fly Tampa Athens, Dubai, T2G MMMX, LVFR KMIA V2, etc.)  I get way better performance (high 20s/ low 30s) and no stuttering.

That's why I posted here, I did contact the support email listed in my order but it was USA at aerosoft dot com (but no response) ... I'll try support at aerosoft dot com and see if that works.

Cheers, Rob.

Does Dublin have a configuration panel similar to Oslo 2.0?  Options to disable some objects?

Hello Rob, There is a configuration option to use 1024 texture size or the standard (whatever that is), and some options for whether FSX Global is used or not.

just installed  Dublin   and so far so good, no issues installing it all went  well, loaded the ngx  to see what fps I would get  just sitting  at the gate  and was surprised   got  around 22-25 fps.  Havnt gone  flying in or out of  it  will do tomorrow  since just wanted  to see if I had any issues, but  I would say by the looks of the airport is  one of  my top airports  I have purchased

In my FSX setup the stall at 6% is pretty standard and it's much longer than 40 seconds. Never could figure out what's causing it, so I accepted it as a part of daily FSX-life....

I agree, but an SSD should be a bit quicker ;) even with updated firmware.

Have just had a 30 minute low and slow flight around EIDW and my overall first impression is that this is excellent. I use FTX-IRL and I can't find any obvious blending issue at this point, but when you are setting it up Aerosoft give you an option to indicate if you are using FTX IRL, so presumably they have worked on making it compatible. The detail of the airport is amazing and they even have included an accurate rendition of the old Irish Aero Club clubhouse (from which I used to fly in the RW many years ago before the authorities decided they no longer wanted a flying club there!) with the somewhat rusty 'Iona' hangar beside it. There is a lot more accurately modelled autogen in and around the airport than with the old Eiresim product and even the autogen busses travelling on the airport roads have been painted in the correct colours!

10-15 fps with traffic

Surprisingly with a slightly less powerful system than this I have been achieving frame rates in the 30s and 40s using the Alabeo R66 and traffic set at 40%. The reason I say "surprisingly", is that my system has struggled with FPS at other major addon airports (including quite a few of Aerosoft's Mega airports) so I was expecting a problem with EIDW.

I would say by the looks of the airport is  one of  my top airports  I have purchased

Would completely agree!

Bill

I should be getting my first look at this airport tonight, so expect a preliminary report tomorrow.
