February 7, 200521 yr Hello, beeing frustrated by the A320 PIC because of two major confirmed bugs that crash FS9.exe (MCDU HOLD & STAR) I need something new.It seems the SSW A320 will be released when the A340 PIC will come out, too (...)So the only thing left based on my research is the PMDG 737-800/900 ?I favour complex systems that are real world as much as possible.PSS products are too flat in my view.So PMDG is the best thing for FS2004 at the moment ?

February 8, 200521 yr >I favour complex systems that are real world as much as>possible. Then you should definitely not miss MDMax. "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".
February 8, 200521 yr >Then you should definitely not miss MDMax.If Flight Director on this product is malfunctioning as someone suggested that would pretty much kill the notion of the "most professional" airliner. February 8, 200521 yr I think that there are 2 Aircraft that rule today for FS2004 to simulate airline applications. The PMDG 737,and for Commuter Airlines ( they are still airlines), the Flight 1 ATR-72. Both of these sims attract real world airline pilots that fly the actual aircraft in real life . Can't get a better recommendation than that.
February 8, 200521 yr Hello,I am a real "addon junkie". I own a lot of the high end addons such as the PMDG 737 series and the Flight 1 ATR. I bought the MDMAX to learn about the MD80 cockpit (added the Jetcity MD80-90's) and also fly the Fliight 1 727.Lately, after some difficulty getting started, I got the Aruane 737 600 VCe flying. I have read a lot about Ariane in the forum and was very skeptical. The road was a little rocky getting started but I am really glad I stuck with this. To me, and I'm just a sim pilot, this is more fun to operate than the A320PIC (which never ran right for my FS9). The virtual cockpit environment is really easy for me to operate. Almost all of the switches are "live, the startup from cold and dark is a real experience. I learned to operate this bird from my experience with the Project Magenta PMSYSTEMS overhead panel. There is a video on the PM website that got me started.I may be in the minority here, but I have begun to experience complete flights with this bird from startup to landing. While I still fly the PMDG 737 700 and 9000 and also the SSW 310, the Ariane is becoming my favorite sim. The price was very high (the exchange rate is a killer) but since I really enjoy the sim hobby, I stuck it out.Happy flying,Ron SagelNear KCHS
February 8, 200521 yr I don't own the RFP 742, but their panel looked pretty ugly from the screenshots that I've seen.Jeff USAF Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
February 8, 200521 yr the panel on a real 747-200 is not a work of art. It's a 25 year old panel, doh. If you want total realism, and like heavies, the RFP 747 is the way to go. The PMDG is nice, but it's too easy to fly. The RFP will make you work, and I think that's what it's all about. billg
February 8, 200521 yr The RFP 747 is accurate. The model is ok, but the 2d panel and the vc is not great. Just a low quality aircraft for me. Its on the bottom of my list.Jeff, also noticing you are on teh sentry's at tinker. My SASI of my AFROTC just retired from there in may as a commander of something on awacs.Maj. February 8, 200521 yr I've been on these boards for about 2 years now. And not once, at any time, ever, has anyone called the RFP 747 "not great." I'm sorry, but you just showed all of us what a beginner simmer is like. That's cool, we all have to start somewhere. billg
February 8, 200521 yr i have been on fs since 98, and with the flights i have logged, i have way over 10,000 hours. I am the owner of over 15 add-ons, and i am highly involved in a VA, not to mention the fact that i am a real pilot. Next time, get your facts straight. I really dont appreciate that comment. I will say, that in my opinion, it was not right to personally attack me like that because of my opinion. The aircraf model of the RFP747 is ok, but the panel and VC turned me away fast. And my opinion is again, its not the greatest, nor is it at the top of my list. Chase Barnett
February 9, 200521 yr Nichols? It doesn't sound familiar, but we do have six flying squadrons + one training squadron here at Tinker, also Elmendorf and Kadena AFBs have one squadron each. So you are in the AFROTC, what job are you going for? When do you graduate?Jeff USAF Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
