May 11, 201412 yr Hi all, I was just browsing through the PMDG forum, I haven't been here for a while, all this talk of 777-300's and when will this or that come out gets a bit boring after a while, so I try and avoid commenting until there is something worthwhile to comment on. Now I know that PMDG will not comment on release dates for their products which is fine by me, but I recall they were working on a DC6 for FSX. Looking through the forum I can find no comments on this future product anywhere. When PMDG initially commented on the fact that they were working on a DC6 there were some lovely screen shots on their pages but since then nothing. While I know that Cpt RSR does not comment that often, I would be interested to know if this project is still a work in progress, or has work on it stopped altogether, which would be a shame as the screen shots did look amazing. Kind regards, Happy Flying, Dave Phillips.

May 12, 201412 yr Author Hi Robert, Thanks for the reply to my query. Great to know that this project is still on the burners, even if it has been the back burners. Regards and, Happy Flying, Dave Phillips.

Actually expecting to see this one pick up speed in the very near future... Hi Robert, I have seen no reference to the DC6 or the Classics range noted in your P3D update. Will this therefore categorically be an FSX product only, or undecided as yet? Regards Erich
May 12, 201412 yr http://forum.avsim.net/topic/440788-26apr14-p3d-development-status-thread-updated/?p=2977030 "Release of the PMDG BAe JS4100 for P3D and new products being developed under the PMDG Classics product line are also under consideration for release as P3D titles." IMO, the DC6 would fit in there - not sure, though, what a professional (like in "P3D") DC6 licence would be aimed at??? What happened to AVSIM

May 12, 201412 yr For someone who will be completely clueless on how to fly the DC6. Same here, after the previews I'm convinced and will be purchasing when released. Should be interesting to jump into a wholly different sim experience B) Dan Dominik "I thought you said your dog does not bite.... That's not my dog."

I don't think classics refers to age of the plane but the period the plane was developed in. Classic "legacy" whatever have you. May 13, 201412 yr High fidelity classic range models for FSX/P3D would be amazing. It is one area very lacking in the flightsim space, probably because the younger crowd won't purchase them.
May 13, 201412 yr I don't think classics refers to age of the plane but the period the plane was developed in. Classic "legacy" whatever have you. Not really... RSR has said himself the DC-6 is the first of a line of PMDG Classics. Name available upon request
May 13, 201412 yr I don't think classics refers to age of the plane but the period the plane was developed in. Classic "legacy" whatever have you. Yeah if you read the post entirely you will see that he specifically excludes all the legacy products from P3D development so it means, like Thomas said, that it will be the Classic Line of products of which the DC-6 is the first. May 13, 201412 yr Fantastic to read that the PMDG DC-6 is definitely on the horizon for us flightsimmers - and not just as a mere Fata Morgana! ... maybe it will also be available for X-Plane as well?!! In anyways: Great news! Enjoy flying and happy landings.
