November 10, 201411 yr One thing that must be said, is that because NE is not affected in any way with the FSX autogen setting, it can be a good idea to reduce your AG setting substantially to reduce any performance hit you may be experiencing. If you're running NE at dawn or dusk, the you may want to maintain your normal autogen settings, but at night, when you cannot see autogen the same as during the day, you could effectively turn it down to sparse, you'd be less aware of the reduction in autogen and get the benefit of a smaller performance hit due to the lower autogen. November 10, 201411 yr the few who do need further assistance; we provide them with the document; and walk them through to make sure they understand NE insights before they continue on their own Chris, let's put it in this way. I am really impressed with the visual of this product, and as a matter of fact I have three other areas already in the shopping cart but what is refraining me for "pushing the button" (and I would really like to do it...) is the fact that the performance hit for FSX (which is still my nr. 1 sim, even if I am starting to run P3D in a parallel system) is too much. After years of unsuccessful and frustrating tweaking, .thanks to a combination of right hardware and a few effective tweaks I have been running for the last two years a perfectly balanced, fast, stable and smooth FSX which has allowed me to really enjoy this hobby, that is just enjoying virtual flying rather than just thinking about tweaks and/or CTD, As I said I am truly amazed by the great improvement that NE brings to the night flying and I do want to make it a keeper on my rig, but I need a way to figure out how I can achieve this with a reasonable performance hit, which would not cause my sim to go back to where it was a few years ago. So any suggestion is more than welcome, and I would definitely like to have further assistance. November 10, 201411 yr Hi Ezio, thank you for you kind wordswe are always available to help our customers through the proper channels;we never turned anyone down; and we don't have a dissatisfied customer to date!as you already know and well stated in your comment above;it takes time for each to achieve the balance they demand from their simulator, each customer and his sim are very different from the other;this is hardly the right place to start discussing about individual's custom setup, there many ways to help your night performance; as Howard already suggested post above me,there are more alternatives already discussed on our forums here and on Aerosoft forums,if all fails we have our advance user manual, which allows one to take full advantage of Night Environment architecture; and tweak it to his/her specific needs,as I stated before; our advance user manual is proprietary information we keep internal for a reason!
May 30, 201511 yr I'll throw my hat in here. NE really does add A LOT to the night flying experience. That said you'll need some room on your rig to be able to handle it. Level 1 runs fine on mine. Anything higher and my FPS takes a SOLID hit....frpm 30s down to 20s. VAS seems to be hit as well Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. May 30, 201511 yr Thank you Gregg which region is that? with our upcoming v1.7 update; it will be very efficient managing NE through NEXM also have a look at this article i wrote up to help managing VAS http://forum.avsim.net/topic/469367-flight-simulation-and-optimizing-night-time-flights

I've just started using Simstarter to greatly reduce the amount of scenery I load. Definitely speeds up load times. Can you have day and night sets in that like scenery? May 30, 201511 yr did you email Aerosoft support about this? No...I figured that was just normal performance for the product. Is it not? Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
May 30, 201511 yr There’s allot more than meets the eye to NE product line, Advance Proprietary information is given to all our customers; upon request or when contacting support, this information will help you custom fit NE to your specific rig; far beyond the three preconfigured levels,

May 30, 201511 yr great, please keep us informed on how NECA run after you tinkered with it B) don’t forget to read the article I published recently; here - http://forum.avsim.net/topic/469367-flight-simulation-and-optimizing-night-time-flights it will help you balance your current VAS consumption at night; regardless of NE advance manual!
May 31, 201511 yr great, please keep us informed on how NECA run after you tinkered with it B) Hi Chris, I did the things you recommended in the guide. I went ahead and added night settings profiles to my SimStarter, hangared some airplanes, and disabled global terrain blocks. I've got the scenery pretty isolated to large areas but just what I need. I also bought Florida and did some flying and tests both there and in California. I *think* Florida is doing better. It has the new interface. With 25% lights I don't think there's much, if any, difference in VAS or framerates and it's completely usable. The higher settings for lights in California does, at times at least, takes a chunk off framerates. Still, I have to say that the higher settings don't really seem to be that much better. If anything, they're overwhelming...much too much brightness. Meh. I'll monkey with them some more. They've certainly added a lot of joy to my nightflying! Thanks so much! May 31, 201511 yr Thank you for your support and feedback Gregg; much appreciated! you can expect all regions to be like Florida; and easy to manage with their v1.7 NEXM release, i can suggest to go one notch back on Yellow slider; if you feel you need free up some VAS in FL, generally speaking the VAS usage from NE isn’t going to be reduced by the settings; rather allow NE or any other night time addons to run unrestricted, technically speaking in NECA, KLAX and KSEA are extremely dense areas, we followed the guidelines city hall dictates for lighting spacing; in areas like KLAX we remain true to vector data, even though it is extremely dense girded area; we try to render it as it would be seen in real-life ease up on autogen density and scenery complexity in these specific areas,
