July 15, 201411 yr What's your point? My point is if one is writing something completely new, he probably deserves phd because that kind of work request investigation and exploration, and eventually developing/discovering something new. All other kind of writing is just rewriting/referencing to something that already exists. Long before you made your videos, interactive CBTs already covered all that topics for those who like to learn visually. Why you bothered to make a video with same topic? I totally support what you do, I like diversity of learning material available, but in this topic you just contradict yourself. July 15, 201411 yr Commercial Member Why you bothered to make a video with same topic? Did I? Last time I checked, there's no publicly available CBT for people to learn how to set up descent forecasts, or understand the in-depth purpose and functions of SIDs and STARs... I totally support what you do, I like diversity of learning material available, but in this topic you just contradict yourself. I really don't. I'm not copying the topic AND the medium. He is re-writing written material. My videos translate from the written to the visual. I can't see your logic at all, even though I'm desperately trying... Kyle Rodgers

As in "the average simmer would actually watch it because it doesn't cost an arm and a leg." Let's be realistic here. Come on... Additionally, I don't see either of the listed topics being in any of those. Kyle Rodgers

Come on... Additionally, I don't see either of the listed topics being in any of those. "Flight preparation" and "Mass and Balance" CBTs covers that topics. And it costs about the same as PMDG T7 per CBT. Aviation (and virtual one too) is expensive hobby. Aviation (and virtual one too) is expensive hobby. You're comparing my FREE videos, to videos that cost about $100-120. Again, I fail to see your logic here...that's not very accessible to the average simmer. Additionally, Mass and Balance wasn't one of the ones I listed 1; and 2, it likely doesn't take the perspective I approached the mass and balance topic of my own. Theirs covers calculating mass and balance, and the concepts of CG. Mine addressed the idea that mass and balance calculations have built in error simply in the way we calculate them. So again...improper comparison. Next...? Kyle Rodgers

So again...improper comparison. Next...? What next? I'm quite sure it's mentioned at least once in that CBT. At the other side, I respect your approach to that subject. If you look at avsim official demographic poll, and few other unofficial polls here at forum you will see that an average simmer spends a LOT of money. Just make a quick math: PMDG NGX + T7 + FS2Crew + AOA training + PFPX (with online subscription) + Topcat + ASN + Navigraph charts and airccs subscription. You can even add PMDG printed manuals and come up with 1k $. SHould I even start with scenery and graphical updates? So you're going to make the argument that freeware should be judged against payware, then? Is that what you're saying? Because, again, that's neither a fair comparison, nor is is a logical one. You know...some days I question why I even bother with the simmer crowd. Today is definitely one of those days. If that costs me subscribers, I'm over it. I don't do it for money, and I don't do it for numbers. I do it to help people, yet I get compared to CBT you have to pay (a whole bunch) for, and I'm told it's simply a duplicate of those topics covered (which is isn't, mind you). If you want to go pay for it, be my guest. Until then, I'd suggest coming to reality and realizing the value of what you're getting (free information, and information you're not going to find elsewhere). If anyone ever wonders why I'm so combative and caustic, it's threads like this. I'm done with this absolutely ridiculous argument. Kyle Rodgers

I'm sorry you feel that way, as no one insulted your work, I just presented the facts, like it or not. Remember this is topic about the 777 taxi manual that half of you ridiculed so well I couldn't just sit and watch. July 16, 201411 yr Author Captains..Captains...First of let me tell you the last comment was written by my friend,Because I am not well. But after reading the comments that followed,he was so afraid,he asked me to write the rest by myself. So even though my eyes are watering,my head is aching like a thousand devils,I will write. Kyle : Why...my last comment was the 68th one,do you know how many comments there are now,on this topic...86..well this one makes it the 87th.You are a grown up man..a Beta tester for Pmdg, why are you taking others comments so seriously,if you dont like it ignore it.You do know our community is a small one,we dont need debates about something so silly as to how you can taxi an aircraft in sim,do you?people will say what they have to say...it is up to you to either ignore them, because they dont make sense..or try to educate them if they are willing to learn. You make videos..good for you, visual aid is always helpful, but you know what is better, doing it yourself.Practical work, not just watching videos...that doesnt help you remember stuff.Manuals are not worthless, the present generation hasn't realised that, that is a different issue. But when that comp. of yours goes caput, you might as well sit and read books. I am not asking you to wait for the manual, and i am sure you are not actually waiting to read the manual...if you do I am sure you will find flaws with it,and surely wont change your statement.I dont need that, like you I am only trying to help, help maybe newbies who have just bought the aircraft and want a simple guide to learn about one aspect of flight. If you feel it is worthless, please dont read it. I never said people might be jealous of me,does anyone know anything about my actual life...i dont think so.Frankly no one needs to,we are here because we all have the same passion for simming, nothing else.So lets not make a big HU HA out of this post please. FLEX1978:That was my friends idea of troubling me when i am sick ^_^ ,I am not a 777 pilot,I am an aspiring pilot,it what i would like to do after a few years, fly!. You can see i have changed my sig.(and my password)I am just a big time aviation enthusiast who likes to read books and gain knowledge,if you are interested let me tell you my grandfather was a quality control manager, he did some other important work for the Air force. That is my connection with aviation(and yes i do fly on a laptop,no controllers[ if it was your idea of asking me if i professionally sim like you guys..i dont]) Seriously guys..get a grip, there is nothing so serious about this post to get you so worked up,Let this manual be a help to others who are new to the community and most importantly new to the PMDG 777. I havent really seen any constructive feedback that can be ADDED TO THE DOCUMENT which might interest you,all i have seen is either:oh this is stupid,or oh this is nice. so if you have anything in particular, tell me.If you dont..please dont argue. warm regards To most people the sky is the limit. To those who love aviation, the sky is home. greetings, H.Mahesh
July 16, 201411 yr Commercial Member Thanks for the reply. The reason I asked about controller use is due to the fact that we all have different setups, techniques generally vary a great deal depending in what hardware is used. My taxi technique changes even after a simple null zone change on my pedels! Anyway good luck! Cheers Rob Prest

Cheers Quite right Rob, after rebuilding my system after my upgrade, even though I tried to carry over as many settings, the planes are still responding sliiiiightly differently to the way they used to. Bit more rudder pedal here, bit less throttle there. etc etc. Wes Meyer
