The 747 is the reason I got into aviation. Though I wasn't able to travel on it as a passenger. I was lucky enough to stand inside the wheel well of this beautiful aircraft.(now that I think of it... Really wasn't the best place to be in) Thank you air France engineers If pmdg takes any longer to show more preview shots (at least)... I'll explode

Right you are! We need to learn to appreciate the smaller things...a few years ago pmdg aircraft didn't have terrain radars, weather radars were deemed impossible to accurately recreate. Who knows.. Someday we might have a perfect 64 bit simulator.. Till that day Let's just enjoy what we already have. Regards

I use pro ATC X... Also have a habit of listening to the ATIS very often. At least I don't programme the STAR till I am close to my T/D.

1. Do read the introduction manual provided. The master switch is part of a large knob on the overhead panel. Beside the storm light switch. It is labeled so can't be missed. When pushed inside it is turned on.. And all the ambient lighting brightness can be controlled by it. Again... It controls the brightness of the lights. Doesn't turn them on. If you want to illuminate everything. Use the dome light. 2. Turn on the emergency light. Illuminates everything. Beware.. They are functional only upto 10-15 mins. If I'm right. Intensity can't be controlled. 3. Backlight for lettering doesn't really work during the day. Might be due to how the sim treats the night and day textures.. Just a fsx-ism. Again just a shortcoming which can't really be controlled sadly. If you have just started flying this bird. Go through the introduction manual over and over and over again. Then go into the systems. And you could start playing around with the bird. Hope this helps, H.M

From my experience.. In fsx at dusk.. Or early morning the lighting isn't very bright.. Not realistic at all. After dusk during the onset of actual night... Or almost complete darkness.. The lights actually illuminate the ground.

Get it while you can guys.. The lady won't be there on the shelves forever. It is sad that there aren't too many people who like this airplane. It is an absolute masterpiece and for me an aircraft that resembles beauty. If anyone viewing this post is even slightly interested in this aircraft, please do yourself a favor and buy it. Does this problem persist with the default livery or is it the same for downloaded liveries? Try separately downloading a livery from avsim library and check it still persists. In p3d try turning off the landing lights illuminate ground. Weirdly enough it had worked for me while the landing light was still illuminating the ground (while the option was disabled ie) Hope this helps, H.M
