July 20, 201411 yr Someone said Ryan suggested a reinstall of the 777 for better performance, could you explain why? Coming from a recent reinstall of FSX, I avoided installing the 777 because I was set on flying it again only with SP1 and fbw fixed. So that day has arrived, my install is as fresh as can be, and I'm getting performance issues. FBW works like a charm though. I'm curious about an explanation as well. Could the dings be something else, other than FSUIPC VAS dings?I haven't had an OOM yet. With all the bells and whistles this thing has, there are notification dings all over the place. Could be something as frivolous as a cabin ready chime. When are you hearing them? Ethan Edelson
July 20, 201411 yr With all the bells and whistles this thing has, there are notification dings all over the place. Could be something as frivolous as a cabin ready chime. When are you hearing them? Was about twice, maybe three times. A double ding. Seemed to be at random times. I'll try and find time for another test flight today or tomorrow, and make a note of when they occurred. Certainly didn't hear them prior to SP1 though.
July 20, 201411 yr Cabin ready chime had been there, even before SP1. Randomly timed, as stated. Can still hear it with SP1. What happened to AVSIM
July 20, 201411 yr Thanks Oliver. Maybe it's that then. to be honest, as I have never had an OOM, I'm not sure exactly what the vas warning dings sound like. Maybe for some reason I didn't get the cabin ready dings prior to the service pack.
July 20, 201411 yr Martin, the VAS ding is a single tone, it never changes its pitch, but it may be repeated at short intervals. Cabin ready is two chimes, first one high, second one low, and it doesn't repeat until the flight phase changes (you hear it once before takeoff, once before approach). There's no 'cabin ready' message on the EICAS before that signal, but it is displayed exactly at the chimes. What happened to AVSIM
July 20, 201411 yr This wasn't one high and one low. And random in the cruise. I'll test again later. Oliver... are you getting any touchdown sounds. For me, there is no sound upon landing. Every landing sounds like a greaser. Not a bump, not a rumble, nothing. Might be my sound settings, hence why I ask. Was the same prior to SP1.
July 20, 201411 yr Will check specifically at the end of my exciting flight (flying from airport 'windshear I' to airport 'windshear II' currently ). Sound settings in the CDU are definitely worth checking, Martin. (But also in FSX.) Weird you get that tone in cruise - VAS should be lower there than anytime else. Do you have those different automatic uplinks enabled? They chime, too. EDIT: Heard the NLG touchdown and roll (only ...) Edited July 20, 201411 yr by olli4740 What happened to AVSIM
July 20, 201411 yr The 200 doesn't have a "Ground Maneuvering Camera" you call "Taxi Cam", only the 300ER does. oh im sorry i didnt read the 200 part . Richard Avenido

You can turn that feature off if it annoys you. You will also get Alternate airport uplinks as well if that is turned on. Oh right, that explains it. Thanks very much  I do wish there were some kind of main gear touchdown sound. There are times when I wonder if I've touched down. Just landed at BIRK, and deliberately landed very hard. Not a sound from the main gear.
July 20, 201411 yr Author Hello Again. I did a full re-install of the T7-200 and SP1 following Tabs procedure, Deleted the fsx config and let it generate a new one. Set traffic to zero (normally airliner traffic set to 30% MyTrafficX) Tried again sitting at 09R EGLL frames now better but only 19FPS. Took off and did a circuit over London, frame rate never exceeded 21FPS but the stuttering was more of a problem. Really bad. For those who have seen a FPS increase, can you tell me your setup/scenery/config setting please? I'm suspicious that a service pack, 1 year in the making, has made the product worse. Pretty convinced it's my setup but would like to compare with others who are having a good experience Thanks very much Stu i7 12700K , DDR4 64GB RAM @3600MHz, Asus Z690-Plus D4 MB, Gainward 4090 RTX Graphics, 850W Corsair PSU, Kraken AIO watercooler, Nvme 1TB ssd, 1TB ssd, 500GB ssd.
July 20, 201411 yr I'm currently facing the same problem as the opener of this topic. I've had without the SP1 always a minimum of 22 till 30fps except some special airports. But now ofter clean install with the RTM installer I'm still getting the problems too. I don't want to spend 5 bucks for the full new build including SP1and then hoping it could work. I guess this is not a problem with the scenery or FS setting at all. But what is the way to solve it and get back to the old (or maybe with SP1 better) performance?? Regards Greetings Eddi
July 20, 201411 yr Same for me. I assume the reason why you experience more perfomance is because you all use wx instead of the terrain Map. It raises the "v"-parameter more than the WX easy to monitor when extended FPS indication is active.
July 20, 201411 yr I went from 22fps to 7fps at every airport even default and high VAS. A full reinstall of the 777 as set out by Tabs reset it back to normal again Hi Zoran , by any chance are you running FS Captain ? I get 7FPS in the VC ,but the strange thing is when i full reinstall PMDG 777 with out installing FS Captain FCOM my FPS gets back to normal as well. July 20, 201411 yr I just tested at a default airport from FSX without scenery around. And here the performance is fine and everything is very smooth. But if I switch to Aerosoft EDDM or FlyTampa LOWW,.... I suddenly go down to 19-21fps and it does not feel very smooth :/ Greetings Eddi
