July 30, 201411 yr Author But be aware Concorde is probably the most challenging aircraft you will fly. Oh,and if you haven't already got Radar Contact you might think about that. That's what makes it so appealing! And roger on RC I suppose I should ask now, how is the performance for both of them? I know the Concorde X had/might still have memory issues, and is definitely a resource hob, and the T7 did as well I think(?).

Concorde does eat memory but there are plans in place to reduce its 'hunger' after the team have completed the A320. In the meantime your best bet is to save the flight half-way through, exit FS and then reload it. Not ideal but it ensures you don't run out of VAS especially if both airports are 3rd party and therefore, heavy on VAS. Ray (Cheshire, England). July 30, 201411 yr PMDG 777 or Concorde X, hmmmm. Tough choice for sure. Good luck with that, don't want to be in those shoes, heh. Such first world problems. Concorde X gets VERY tiring to fly if you manage everything. Even using the virtual flight engineer the work load is pretty high. Guess if you prefer to be lazy and look around more go 777; want your nose in gauges and like to think, get the Concorde.
July 30, 201411 yr Recently got a decent amount of cash to spend. I mostly fly P3D, but occasionally will jump back into FSX. I was kind of thinking about buying either the 777X or the Concorde X, or maybe even the A2A B17 because of their sale, but I'm being open to any suggestions right now. Any thoughts on what's worth looking at? EDIT: I should add I've kind of drifted from simming the last few months, I'm sure something has gone unnoticed by me. I will be re-installing Windows 7 and FSX shortly and I will only be installing a few aircraft. First and foremost the PMDG 777. Ric Elmore
July 30, 201411 yr Forget the boring modern tubeliners, try Majestic Dash 8 Q400 or Coolsky DC-9 Classic? Concorde X is a good choice also though. Have to agree with this sentiment. I bought the T7 a year ago and despite taking it on many flights and immersing myself in long range procedures, I never bonded with it like the NGX. I got the Majestic Dash 8 recently, and it's been absolute fun on every flight. The T7 is a technical marvel everyone should experience if they are into flight simming. But fun can't be automated. July 30, 201411 yr Recently got a decent amount of cash to spend. Any thoughts on what's worth looking at? STOP RIGHT NOW Do not spend a dime. If you have to ask what to buy, you're dangerously close to wasting your money! Considering you say you've drifted from the hobby a bit, I'd strongly recommend saving your money for something you actually want for your flight simulator on its own merits. Trust me on this one. I've been in that position before, and over my simming 'career' I've purchased more than a few high quality add-ons which left me entirely unfulfilled because I was buying them because I could and people thought they were good... not because I actually wanted them.

Yup, been there a bunch of times. I've bought probably 8-10 things that I use once, then won't touch again because I just don't feel like flying them anymore. Most military stuff comes to mind. I bought the Superbug in maybe 2010 and have flown it a grand total of 7 times. I've been much more conservative as of late, as I don't have money to waste. Right now, I'm just wondering as to which one will give me more enjoyment. Both products are interesting to me in different ways. The Concorde is a retro SST that will require learning in order to stay ahead of the aircraft, but is a unique experience I won't get with any other product. The T7 is the latest from some of the greatest, that I can transition into more-or-less smoothly from my past experience with a similar aircraft. I honestly think I'm going to go with the Concorde X. The 777 is gorgeous, but the Concorde has always had me at awe, and it's mystique just pulls you in. Time for me to jump back into simming in a whole new manner.
July 30, 201411 yr I have a PayPal account, I can send you a PM and you can deposit the extra cash into my account, I will buy a bunch of planes and test them out for you and let you know which ones I would recommend...LOL Bryan Wallis aka "fltsimguy" Maple Bay, British Columbia Near CAM3

July 30, 201411 yr I would take advantage of A2A's sale for sure. I have been flying A2A birds for a long time now and I very rarely see them do sales. Between the Tubeliners and the warbirds, it just depends what you like. The B-17 is an awesome plane, full of history, and very rewarding to fly. No computers, no FMS, no FADEC, no magenta line, just antique flight instruments and a rudimentary autopilot, along with a simulated flight crew, you really feel like a pilot when you fly a plane like that. The T7 is awesome too, for all of the opposite reasons, it is very automated, yet is also rewarding to fly. Between the two, sure the T7 is modern and will be around for a long time, but in reality I pretty much have the same likelyhood of logging some B-17 stick time as I do T7 stick time. Would you rather have the chance to drive a vintage WWII PT Boat or a modern ferry, its kind of the same choice lol, whatever floats your boat, literally. Thanks for your input TJ. The B17 and the P40 are the only two A2A aircraft I hadn't given a thought to buying, and those sales are definitely rare. Maybe, just maybe... A bit random, but I find your A2A analogies to be great! The P-40 "old reliable stick shift jeep" compared to the Mustangs "fast and new muscle car" really hits home the differences, and the PT boat/ferry one makes just as much sense.
July 30, 201411 yr Well personally I would go with the 777X but that is because I am slightly biased towards PMDG aircraft. I have the T7 and it is an amazing aircraft. I haven't flown the Concorde X but I hear it is very nice. And while the B17 isn't really my style A2A makes some excellent addons. Not really helpful I know but you chose some excellent addons to pick from I guess it just depends what kind of flying you are interested in at the moment.the ConcordeX was made by ex PMDG devs and blows the 777 out of the sky in every area.
