SweetFx not working with v2.3

Recommended Posts

Hi,

SweetFX is not working here with V2.3. It starts activated but as soon as i open the P3D menu bar SweetFX bugs out and stops working. Pressing Scroll Lock does nothing.

Anyone else having this problem?

Cheers

No problems here with SweetFX, everything is working fine in v2.3.

Did you guys made a full reinstall or used the patch? I used the patch and mine doesn't work.

I did the patch, so SweetFX was already in my Prepar3d folder since v2.2.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies, i managed to solve the problem by uninstalling windows update KB2670838. Had it installed since April or May, don't know why it didn't have a problem with version 2.2. Go figure.

Regards.

Can anyone with sweet fx post a screenshot or two to show the difference between the standard 2.3 and a SweetFx one? Really interested to see if it can make sunlight on terrain look more "sunny" (although I reckon 2.3 has gone and done this much better than 2.2) cheers!

Great to hear that.  Too bad you cannot change the title of your topic as it might mislead people to think that SweetFX does not work in 2.3.

I am still having the issue, as soon as I go to the menu bar, it stops working (I don't have the KB mentioned above installed). Am I the only one running into this issue? For me, SweetFX is not working with 2.3

John.

John, are you sure you don't have it installed? It doesn't show on the "Uninstall programs" window unless you press "View installed updates".

i have the same issue -> as allready in another forum posted -> i have the same issue with P3D V2.4 -> at first start SweetFX works fine but if i choose some P3D menu or change from fullscreen to windowed mode or work on the windows taskbar, it´s stops working and i have to restart P3D V2.4 again !

ok, but don´t tried to uninstall this windows update, will try it later and report !

WIN7 64bit, Nvidia 780 Titan (newest drivers), new SweetFX interface (both started in admin mode) !

Have it installed on my system too.

I never thought it would stop working.

Do you get an error message ?

nope,

as i said, it´s working if I restart P3D 2.4, and if I only fly and do nothing it´s still working -> but if I choose something from P3D menu (or anything else) the effects are gone and with pressed scroll down (or some other defined keyboard button) nothing happens, and i can´t reactivate it again until restart of P3D !

i don´t look at the log file, and the files (Sweetfx config, the dll´s and the rest of them) are only im main P3D folder (not copied to any other folder such a system or windows folder) !

ok friends !

Thank you for your response, but I think I have it !

I´m not sure which step solved this problem (no tests after every step, sorry) but i did as follow:

reinstalled DirectX runtime

as posted above -> uninstalling windows update KB2670838 (could be the reason)

rebuild P3D own shaders with SweetFX on

rebuild SweetFX shaders (pressed break button on keyboard) with SweetFX on and off !

The issue with the P3D menu is still there, but as soon as I close the menu the effects are coming back, an I can also switch to fullscreen or windowed mode without problems !!

Yuhuu !

Thank you !

There's more than only the folder to remove.
