Goodbye FSX/P3D/XP a new Flight Simulator is in the house

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I didn't know that you can set it up to display similar in the manner to FS9 or FSX 2D environment where the top half of your screen is out the window, and the bottom half is the primary flight instrument panel. Like FSXtreme, I'm a TrackIR and VC addict now, so I don't think I could go back to that paradigm easily, but you're right, I was operating under a misunderstanding of how the product could be used in a typical desktop environment.

Completely understand. I know that a well-done virtual cockpit combined with a TrackIR is powerful attraction for many sim pilots, and that is one thing that PSX does not have. Unless, of course one goes "full hog" and uses PSX to build a full-size hardware-based "real" 747 flight deck, which is the ultimate "VC"!

PSX is certainly not only for those willing to build a full cockpit, a mockup, or even a simple multi-monitor setup.

PSX being a self-contained flight simuation, including ATC, ACARS and Dispatch, Weather and full systems moelling for the full range of B747-400, including detailled modelling of each motorization, is aimed at those hardcore simmers, airliner pilot wannabees, or even B744 first officers and captains that want to have, at home or in their laptop a proficiency and study software.

While it includes a World, and a more than sufficient representation of the runways that can service a b747-400, it is possible to use our other typical sims ( msfs 9 or 10, prepar3d or x-plane 9 and 10 ) for the out-of-windshield views, so, users of those sims cam now have the most complex b747-400 ever made available for their platforms running as an "add-on aircraft".

In the particular case of XP10, PSX has the additional function of providing the best available weather injector for that sim, because indeed the detailed weather model included in PSX is, by itself, probably the most advanced weather model available for the type of operations associetd with a heavy airliner like the b747-400.

I would particularly welcome a Flight Gear port too, because although I feel satisfied with the outcome of using PSX with XP10.30b8 + SkyMaxxPro v2, I have a special "love" and consideration for the Flight Gear initiative.

As builder of a commercial public flight simulation facility that now includes a full 737 NG www.flightdeck1.com, and owner of full panel sets of both Airbus A320 and 737 from Flightdeck Solutions, I still get my greatest satisfaction from sitting in front of my 30" Dell with my Trackir. Different strokes. Its all good as long as we're having fun ehh :drinks:

Whow!  Looking simply GREAT!

I'm on FSX-SE though... this way I can still use my best FSX stuff, like the realAirs, the Majestic Q400, PMDG 777 200 and 300, A2As...

I guess Omin has selected an option to inject PSX traffic into XP10. I don't recall how it is with XView, but with VisualPSX there's a similar option.

In the situation he chose to vly, in PSX the TCAS allert scenarios were certainly enabled an caused that aircraft to appear  ( ? ).

It's also possible to inject XP10 or FSX traffic into PSX.

Of course, these are all just guesses...

I am using XP AI which I have populated from this thread.

Unfortunately TCAS notifications (blips on the ND) are not there - not too sure If this is an XP, Xview or PSX problem.

I think xsquawkbox displays okay. I will have to do more testing.
