August 28, 201411 yr No, there isn't, at least not for now. ASN inputs the weather data (and channels it through to PMDG's addon) in a different way than other weather engines have done before. The ball is not in PMDG's court, but in the court of other developers. As long as they don't provide the data needed, PMDG simply can't make a working weather radar with their add-on. They could of course make one of those pretty cloud maps, but that's not what a weather radar is about, it defeats the purpose completely. Name available upon request

August 28, 201411 yr ASN uses a specially written dll file which connects ASN to the T7, you can use other weather engines (I also use Opus) but you need to have a bought (and hopefully) paid for version of ASN installed on your machine. Aerosoft have approached the wxr from a different angle and when they release the new versions of their Airbus the wxr will work with all weather engines. August 28, 201411 yr you can use other weather engines But not correctly. Other weather add-ons generate a cloud map, not the picture a weather radar would provide. As confirmed by Kostas himself. Name available upon request
August 29, 201411 yr But not correctly. Other weather add-ons generate a cloud map, not the picture a weather radar would provide. As confirmed by Kostas himself. Wrong! watch the video I made, you can see that it shows only the areas of precipitation the same as ASN. This will also work for any weather engine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYZO-96tO2k&list=UU96wsF3D_h5GzNNJnuDH3WQ AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 4.2 32 gig ram, Nvidia RTX3060 12 gig, Intel 760 SSD M2 NVMe 512 gig, M2NVMe 1Tbt (OS) M2NVMe 2Tbt (MSFS) Crucial MX500 SSD (Backup OS). If Opus is good enough to include the precip data for the HiFi module to pick up, then great, but I hardly believe any weather program will contain accurate enough data for realistic depiction. As an example, the FSX default weather will show up on the ND with ASN installed but not active. It's not at all accurate. Regardless, I'm still betting on Opus' depiction on the ASN module being less accurate than it should be. Also...what did I just watch??? A video of "proof" or an advertisement? Next, quotes indicate speech. Italics, or de-italicizing in the cases italics are used, is the proper way to emphasize a point. The way you wrote: Opus weather "does" display correctly in the PMDG waether [sic] radar. ...only serves to undermine your point by introducing a skeptical tone. It's similar to how someone would use quotes to indicate sarcasm: Kyle was being his typically "nice" self. Also, see example above using "proof." Sure, grammar lesson probably isn't appreciated, but I see it all over the place, and it annoys the heck out of me. Finally, it's not the PMDG weather radar. It's ASN weather radar using a PMDG display module. That might seem picky, but you wouldn't call the real weather radar the Boeing weather radar. It's a Rockwell Collins unit, displayed by the DUs of the Boeing 777. Kyle Rodgers
August 29, 201411 yr It was still raining after your exit the cloud. I think I understood Opus was working on this. Why would they if it was already working ? Nicolas Dumats

Thanks for your feedback Karl, re the grammar, I didn't think people bothered with it any more judging by the spelling that goes on in many, many post's (I mean come on we are using computers with spell checkers for gods sake) oh and there was one in your post skeptical! should be sceptical (see, I used the correct grammar) But then I am British and we invented the language. Mike being his extra, extra nice self. Re the rest of the post, well we will have to agree to disagree. August 29, 201411 yr Re the rest of the post, well we will have to agree to disagree. Not much to disagree here really, good that your defensive of opus but as stated by many you need asn to have the weather radar to work correctly , and for the spelling we all know the usa have different spelling than the rest of us for some words, heck they drive on the wrong side of the road to you I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
