April 25, 200521 yr Anyone wanna take a guess at what you think the cost of this bird will be?I feel like it will be 39-50. I hope not, i think 25-30 would be best. :)I understand developers work very hard, and deserve alot of money for their products, but when we start throwing 39.95 prices at crazy people with a visa, we will buy anything! :-lol I respect them all, but i would like to see payware around 25-35. I know that those payware planes bring in alot of money. Like that 40$ LDS. Throw a plane that great at abunch of people mad over that bird, nothing can hold us back. :) Well worth it though. :)But ill stop talking about that. What do you think the PMDG will cost?Any how much longer do you think it will be untill release?I have had no internet since thursday of last week and just now got it fixed. I had a strange feeling, and was expecting to get onto avsim and see the headline read, "PMDG releases long await Boeing 747-400!!!"But to my dissapointment, its not out.. :(Ahh well, i think its gonna be a little while longer, and one expensive bird. Looks great though!
April 25, 200521 yr >Anyone wanna take a guess at what you think the cost of this>bird will be?Well, if you read RR's fairly recent post he sort of metaforically stated it would be about 1/4 of the price of PS1. And since PS1 is about $260 - you can do the math... Anyhow, I am willing to bet large sum of money it will be priced **above** $50 which would be perfectly justified considering some of the never seen before features.>Any how much longer do you think it will be untill release? My pure guess - July 2005.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2 Michael J.
April 25, 200521 yr Whatever it costs, Ill be signing on the dotted line.Just hope they have some of those rather sexy ladies ready when they roll mine out..... :) oops the girly is looking DELETE...DELETE.Jason
April 25, 200521 yr if your right, and if it is over 50, it will prob be one of the most expensive fs aircraft. I think that could be pushing the limit though. I cant see why they would really want to charge that ammount. Seems a bit high IMO. I guess ill have to pray that its 50 or less though. Id like to get it. Chase Barnett
April 25, 200521 yr I think it will be $39, providing the amout of hard work gone into such a development I'm sure it will be worth it.
April 25, 200521 yr Commercial Member >I cant see why they would really want to>charge that ammount.I have absolutely no idea what the team will decide to charge, but people really should wait until they see the full feature set of the aircraft before they decide what's "worth it" or question why they would charge X price. April 25, 200521 yr I'll guess 49.99 - You know how nothing can sell for an even, rounded amount. ;)Also, I'm expecting a September 2005 release. - Chris Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | Intel Core i9 13900KF | Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB | 64GB DDR5 SDRAM | Corsair H100i Elite 240mm Liquid Cooling | 1TB & 2TB Samsung Gen 4 SSD | 1000 Watt Gold PSU | Windows 11 Pro | Thrustmaster Boeing Yoke | Thrustmaster TCA Captain X Airbus | Asus ROG 38" 4k IPS Monitor (PG38UQ) Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard | Intel i7 4790k CPU | MSI GTX 970 4 GB video card | Corsair DDR3 2133 32GB SDRAM | Corsair H50 water cooler | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD (2) | EVGA 1000 watt PSU - Retired
April 25, 200521 yr dont any of you think it's insane to pay more for an add on then the whole game costs in the first place??and comments like "I'll pay whatever they want"......is simply nuts.....there should be a cap, say $30 for all payware.....I'd be for that..
April 25, 200521 yr Heck .... I don't care as long as it is US Dollars. :) It will be a bargain considering the exchange rate these days. If it is $50 USD, that is what 6 Euro's now? LOL. Bob.... :) Bob Prince
April 25, 200521 yr >dont any of you think it's insane to pay more for an add on>then the whole game costs in the first place??Yes, some of us do.>and comments like "I'll pay whatever they want"......is simply>nuts.....Yep.>there should be a cap, say $30 for all payware.....I'd be for>that..Forget it. Why should there be a cap if there are some buyers that will "pay whatever they want?"(Of course, the idea of a cap is silly to begin with. Think about it.)
April 25, 200521 yr >dont any of you think it's insane to pay more for an add on>then the whole game costs in the first place??>Don't know how old you are - it is insane to think like this because this is not how things are priced in this world so why all of a sudden the sim market should be any different. You can pay for an airline ticket more on a shorter route than on longer route, you can pay 10 times more for light bulb that goes into an aircraft than a very similar light bulb for your car. A wheel barrel is more expensive than DVD player though which one has more 'technology'?. Many programs written for Windows XP cost many times more than XP itself. Really examples are countless. Any item that has an aura of 'exclusivity', 'uniqueness','customization' or 'professionalism' is priced much higher. I suggest you start looking at some prices outside of your grocery store. It is the ABC of economics.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg Michael J.
April 25, 200521 yr michal,I repect your opinion, however, we're talking about a game. Look at other games, add ons are usually free for them, FS is the first game I have ever played that you have to pay for the add ons, look at battelfield vietnam, good game, look at the 900MB mod for it, PoE, it's free and almost re writes the whole game. Look at Papys nascar sim, there are mods for it to turn it into a completely different game and they are free, same with SubCommand, SCX is free and makes it a whole new game. I can understand the choice, pay or dont, but step back and look, too much is too much. But I know there are people that will pay it and people that will pirate it because they dont want to pay that much and people that simply wont get it at all....just the way FS is.You should comapire apples to apple not apples to oranges.
April 25, 200521 yr I just dont see why any one would want to charge much more than 40. I think when aircraft start going for 75$ or so, that can be a little bit much. I think 39 would be a good price for a nice payware. Like the LDS for example.. :) Chase Barnett
April 25, 200521 yr PMDG has never charged $50.00 for any of their addons, I doubt the 747 will be any different. I say the price will be 39.95. They are a professional company and probably won't bounce their prices around.Jeff Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
