Wow! I spend one day away out of town and this thread grows to epic proportions! (Hiya Joe! Nice to hear from you.)I only have one question now:"Rob did say that he had quite a challenge developing the FDE so that the action of the CAPS deployment results in some very realistic behaviour."Now did you guys actually go up in one and deploy for the characteristics? :-)I can hear the inflight discussion with the certified demo pilotDP - Demo Pilot1 - Ron2 - RobDP - "And that's the stall."1 - "Nice. (pause) Ready, Rob?"2 - "Yep!"DP - "Ready for what?"1 - "Oh.... nothing."DP - "Hey!!! Don't touch that han......"http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/114808.jpgBOOM!!!!

:-lol :-xxrotflmao "Cirrus dealers have suspended all test flights until furthur notice"On another note - flight dynamics is one of the main reasons why I only fly payware aircraft.

Ha Ha, I think what he meant was that the airplane should NOT do a LOOP as the chute is deployed along with sundry other tweaks needed while under canaopy:-)

"Cirrus dealers have suspended all test flights until furthur notice":-hah ...suspended...from a parachute?Best,Martijn

We regret to inform you that our public statements regarding RXP Units and the Garmin Trainer use are in error. After some discussion with Jean-Luc about the issue, we now have a better understanding of the reasons why some users including myself have experienced what we called the 16 bit issue. Jean-Luc's explanation of how some Windows Operating Systems handle 16 bit applications seems to be the culprit here. This, coupled with various video/drivers handling of 16 bit sometimes causes users to think the errors they see are caused by RXP units when it is actually system related seems to be a very reasonable explanation to us.As mentioned in other places we have tested the RXP v2005 systems in our Cirrus and have found NO issues with it's operation coupled to our Avidyne Entegra Units and will include an RXP Panel.cfg and RXP.ini file in our package for current owners of RXP v2005 versions. Again, we apologize publically for any confusion or misinformation which may have been caused by our statements and refer any who do experience issues with RXP units to their EXCELLENT SUPPORT STAFF for prompt assistance.

"...suspended...from a parachute?"Very Punny :-hah

L.Adamson,You couldn't be closer to the truth about the fact that these forums and this site exist to promote flightsimming in ALL it's forms be it freeware or commercial. The debate by some about freeware vs commercialware seems a waste of time because both ends of the spectrum seem to be coexisting rather nicely and have been for some time.A good example of friendly coexistance between payware and freeware developers may be seen by the fact that we exchanged emails with Guenter and group MANY months ago and assured them then that they were in NO WAY infringing on our Cirrus project and wished them the best in their project. The way we see it, the beneficiaries of friendly coexistance between payware/freeware developers are scores of flightsimmers everywhere!:-) Flightsimmers everywhere benefit because those who cannot afford, or do not wish to purchase a commercial package like ours have the option to fly a well done freeware Cirrus.Flightsimming today seems no longer a question of either/or but a question of either/and. That is to say that many will enjoy and fly BOTH freeware AND payware if the Airliner Jockies in this hobby are any measure:-)

I'm really enjoying the freeware Cirrus, but must admit I'm looking very forward to the one from Eaglesoft as well. Payware and freeware can co-exist!KP

They have been MORE than generous in providing all that we have requested and we are VERY grateful to them:-)
