Are the avionics going to be fully simulated? (as in being able to create/edit a flightplan in the FMS instead of just having it display the current FS route?)

(as in being>able to create/edit a flightplan in the FMS instead of just>having it display the current FS route?)Uuummm, there is no FMC in a Cirrus aircraft :-hmmm You may be flying too many jets lately:-)There is a set of Garmin GNS 430's which work like all GPS's in Flightsim including the default...that is to say that a flightplan [.pln] file is used to display flightplans in the gauge.If your question is.... Can you BUILD a flight plan in our Garmin 430 solution the answer is no.To our knowledge the ONLY Garmin GPS solution that allows flightplan BUILDING is the RXP unit. It should be noted that the RXP unit allows for saving the results of it's user built flightplan in a [.pln] format for display in a gauge.As seen in the shots the author of this thread posted, the Eaglesoft Avidyne displays waypoints and approaches from a [.pln] file VERY well. It also displays TAS VERY well:-)

From someone familiar with the aircraft the deployment of the drogue parachute is a last resort because the forces pull on dedicated assigned frame structural elements. This directed force will then cause probable normal airframe distortion and skin damage that will have to be corrected asnd certified before the aircraft is suitable for flight. The chute is a life saving device, not necessarily an aircraft saver.

Still, it's such a huge improvement over the standard norm. Yes, the plane's gonna suffer, not to mention the other negatives some might bring to the table; extra weight and increased costs associated with the 10-yr interval for the CAPS. Still, better the plane than my skin.I've always felt that the CAPS should be a standard, not an option. I personally feel sooooooo much better with that unpinned handle right over my head. when at altitude. No excuse for diligence and proficiency, but for those things beyond my control...Granted, it's not foolproof, but it's a nice ace-in-the-hole in case of the worse case scenario.

The only awkward thing about the real Cirrus is a cheap CAPS handle cover in the cockpit sticking to the ceiling with a set of cheap velcro strips. Sure it allows you rip it off in an instant if you need to, yet it just doesn't match the rest of the interior.As I am quite tall (6'4") I found myself ripping the cover with my head in turbulence - LOL.Looking forward to your product.Dom

The Pilot according to Cirrus was Lionel Morrison, who they use as a profile and now owns a SR22 according to Cirrus press. A Cirrus SR20 or 22 crashed in the Canadian rockies a while ago - grandfather with his grandchildren on board - had lost control in clouds I think - pulled the chute - hit a mountain, they walked out unhurt but the plane was trashed. But who cares about the plane in that situation.

Then why not just team up with reality xp to add that functionality? Building a flightplan with the 430 or 530 adds tremendously to the fun of flying. At the very least allow a load manager to add these easily.ricardo

Ha ha, we ARE partners with RXP:-)The simplest explanation of this is that RXP uses the Garmin Trainer for it's data source and some of it's functionality. If a developer chooses NOT to use the Garmin Trainer they are left with the challenge of building their own Garmin system with a built in flight planner...It should be mentioned that what I have just outlined sounds fairly simple but is no small challenge to develop and implement.Why not just purchase the RXP unit and drop it into any aircraft you like? Our tests with the RXP units in our Cirrus package reveals no difficulties thus far:-)

I applaud you for choosing not to go for the RXP unit and the Garmin trainer.That trainer (rather than the RXP unit per se) is the only reason I'm not using the DF A36, because it has a severe performance impact on my machine (the 16 bit subsystem on many machines is relatively unstable and tends to lock the CPU to itself. Nothing much RXP or Garmin can do about that, it's the nature of the beast because of the way 16 bit Windows used to handle multithreading).The aircraft from the screenshots looks great. Might get me to buy another addon just when I'd decided to go slow for a while :)

Jeroen, since we partner with RXP it should be understood by all who read this that we have the greatest respect for what RXP has accomplished with their Garmin solution.While many folks are aware of the 16 bit issues you mention, our primary purpose in this thread was to answer the users question re: flight plan BUILDING in ANY current flightsim Garmin system. Our suggestion to the user in question is to simply use the RXP system if he wishes to have flight plan BUILDING capability in a Garmin unit.To that end we have tested the newest RXP system in Cirrus SR20 G2 development and found no major roadbloacks with the RXP units and our Avidyne Entegra system thus far.After preliminary discussions with RXP, it seems it would be difficult to include RXP units in our SR20 G2 release and still maintain an affordable price point.:-)
