November 28, 201411 yr Hi, I have Vector 1.20, would it be better to purchase UTXUSA 2.0 and use it rather than Vector? I think it may be a better idea to wait for Orbx NA Land class release? Since you already have Vector and unless you can get UTX v2 at the upgrade price I would suggest waiting for the Orbx NA Land class. If you'll be paying full price for UTX then there is no financial reason to not wait until Orbx NA LC is released and some comparison sceenshots. Ernie

Actually, no one can really provide an answer for you. It is you, that has to decide...perhaps out of general curiosity. I had Vector 1.20 adding vector graphics to the USA...but, since installing UTX USA v2.0...the look of the U.S. now is how I now much more prefer things. So for me, in UTX areas that I own...I have FSX Vector 1.20 disabled. When I fly over anything not UTX'ized...I reenable Vector 1.20, and that provides outside the areas. It is all what you 'think' you might want/need. The choice wholly has to be your own....

So vector is not working when in the US are you sure as I am seeing water all over the place which leads me to believe vector is actually working - thanks Mitch Rich Sennett
November 28, 201411 yr Vector works in the USA, it just provides a different experience. For example: I looked at Mitch's Tampa screenshots from yesterday and then looked at the same views in my FSX. using Vector His shows Tampa looking like a small town with lots of trees and green areas, mine looked like an actual urban area. He likes his view and I like mine. Neither is right or wrong.

That is how I understand it.... Is this wrong?

Heck, I'll reenable Vector once more...but thought it was silly to have it loaded up in memory, if it did not render to the screen any contribution.... If it does...ALONG with UTX landclass higher than where it sits as default...then sure...I'll let it do its thing. One thing is gone though...with UTX in use....no frozen water...just open. If you have UTX AND Vector...AND...can get frozen water (lakes, rivers...) then please post a pic of that in this thread... So vector is not working when in the US are you sure as I am seeing water all over the place which leads me to believe vector is actually working - thanks Mitch Rich...UTX has it's own WaterClass as well. Man, this hybrid running is so darn confusing.....
November 28, 201411 yr Jim, all those shots taken yesterday was with Vector v1.20 not disabled in any way.... Vector is not being shown then or UTX is overriding it.
November 28, 201411 yr Vector is not being shown then or UTX is overriding it. That's what I think does happen...that UTX is higher...so makes Vector redundant...and Rich..I think you are seeing all that water...as a result of the commercial and latest TOM TOM GPS database that Allen has used in v2.0. It would be deadly accurate....I don't think that FSX Vector is adding, or responsible for that. I'm still of the opinion, that if you are running a UTX product...then Vector won't show any of its features, as it is being 'written out'. If I am wrong...then somebody please point out why...and then supply a screen grab that shows an element of Vector that is not being displayed/created by the UTX program. That would be most helpful...for we folks running UTX/FSX products.... Rich...one of the big tip offs that Vector is dormant...is that in you will now have no frozen water bodies in Winter...they will be open water. That alone, tells me that Vector is not active in any way....and if it isn't with UTX above it, then it should be disabled in the Scenery Lib, so not to load into VAS. Now...Open LC is another thing....if you disable all the UTX landclass, then OpenLC works as normal in Europe. I found only highway on and off Cloverleafs to be affected by the UTX landclass items not active...they show up, but are cut in half.
November 28, 201411 yr Very interesting will have to pay attention to this - thanks Guys Rich Sennett
November 28, 201411 yr Very interesting will have to pay attention to this - thanks Guys BTW, if you have it loaded, UTX Europe now stands at v1.5 I just visited Allen's homepage and updated all my legacy products to the latest and greatest. There are some major changes, bug-fixes, and add-ons over them all. Look in the DOWNLOADS section for your UTX purchases: http://www.scenerysolutions.com/
