November 28, 201411 yr Usually folks vote for the latest. I'd say that the RW 172 is a training airplane. The 182 is more of a workhorse. Gregg Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
November 29, 201411 yr C182 is more versatile. If you want a trainer, suggest you get the a2a Cherokee. Bert
November 29, 201411 yr Get aircraft Addons. They can be used 100% of the time. Scenery Addons can only be used when you fly in that area. Better bang for buck with aircraft Addons
November 29, 201411 yr Depends on where you fly & type of aviation (civil or commercial) you like.... i have a 120 dollars worth of visa gift cards and was wondering what would be the best fsx addons to buy i already have the pmdg 737ngx, rex essential plus overdrive, pfpx, topcat, and fsdreamteam KDFW At the moment there are a lot of holiday sales...check here: http://www.airdailyx.net/fsnewsbreaker/2014/11/16/thanksgiving-sales-here-we-go Best products at this time (value/price) would be from flightbeam & pcaviator(megasceneryearth) A hold on Orbx, etc because there at full price unless you live in Europe where Aerosoft has box products on sale. Darryl
November 29, 201411 yr A hold on Orbx, etc because there at full price unless you live in Europe where Aerosoft has box products on sale. Incorrect. 33% off EVERYTHING Orbx (except Palm Springs), over at Flightsimstore.
November 30, 201411 yr Just happened, was not reduced Thursday or Friday when I checked. Incorrect. 33% off EVERYTHING Orbx (except Palm Springs), over at Flightsimstore. Darryl
December 2, 201411 yr Not sure what hardware you have, or not, but TrackIR 5 is a must for me.Saitek has plenty of hardware to choose from also like radio stacks, switch panels, gauges, yokes, etc.The A2A J-3 Cub is just a great plane to fly and very realistic in its handling.A2A 3D LightsA2A Accu-Feel v2Any ORBX scenery is great, but the PNW has a lot to offerLINDA - to control all those add-on hardware switchesCarenado Planes - just great planes here ( the C172 is great )Alabeo planes ( also found on Carenado's web site)EZCA ( a.k.a. December 3, 201411 yr Get aircraft Addons. They can be used 100% of the time. Scenery Addons can only be used when you fly in that area. Better bang for buck with aircraft Addons Disagree with the aircraft choice. Get FTX Global. It will always be in your sim It is part of a larger scenery system Upgrades are free Can be installed on FSX or P3D Lots of free airports In other words, it's an investment for you sim. Don't get excited with the latest and greatest airplanes. Get the one that fits your current needs and stick to it. Mario Bergeron
December 3, 201411 yr Both the 182 and 172 are excellent products and are nearly on par in this sense. It really comes down to whether you want to fly the fixed-pitch 172 or the faster and heavier variable-pitch 182. Also, I agree with the posts above- FTX Global and ASN are excellent choices. I highly recommend ASN over REX's weather engine as it is a much more effective weather engine. As well, it includes various effects such as visibility changes when flying through clouds- very immerse.
