What up with my KASE? Any ideas how to fix this?

Hey there Manny...  Maybe couple things to try... Run FTX Vector configurator and it will fix nonorbx elevation or something like that if your using FTX .   And a long shot, I have Aspen and Dangerous Airports including Mountain Air Airport only to say Dangerous airports had to be activated by aerosoft Launcher, i forget if aspen needed to be.

Hope it helps

Hmmm.. Interesting.. I need to check if I have this elevation problem in FSX since I can activate it there if I have not already done it. Checked! No elevation problem in FSX.

But this is in P3D. I am simply referring to the FSX KASE folder. :)

In P3D. I tried elevating the airport using AFX and its now leveled out but the runway texture is not visible no matter how much I raise the airport.

I have the same kind of issue at Santa Barbara...scratching my head about it.  Maybe, somehow, related.

Do you by chance have My Traffic installed? There could be some conflicting .bgl's. If that's the case you'll need to add a .passive to the end of the KASE bgl from MTX. I would check that as well as the FTX Vector AEC Airport Elevation Corrections.

Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

I have read somewhere that tesselation creates problems with high elevation airports. Maybe you could also try to reduce or disable tesselation to see whether this helps.

Is this airport actually sold as Prepar3D compatible?

No. It's not. But people can try, right? Most Aerosoft airports work fine in Prepar3D even though they are not officially compatible. They only have problems with the night lighting for which solutions exist. Since Aerosoft has stated that they will not make any of the old airports compatible with Prepar3D this is your only option for most Aerosoft airports anyway. However, Aspen is an exception in this regard, as they have stated that there will be a new Extended version of the scenery which will most likely be compatible with P3D.

Hi Manny,

You said you only refering to the Aspen kase folder in your scenery.cfg there you should check a few things...

1. Aspen has two enties in the Scenery.cfg... one further up with all the scenery's, and one just above the world scenery at Layer No.: 2 or 3 in the sequence... you need to copy both to the P3D scenery.cfg

2. Did you check the Scenery/world/scenery folder for an Elevation Adjustment bgl for KASE? You would need to copy that from FSX/Scenery/world/scenery to P3D/Scenery/world/scenery....

Are you running FTXVector......?

Don't forget to deactivate any elevation ajustment file you created with AFX  :wink:

Would you know what the name of the file would be? I did not see any with *ASE*.* in there.

Hi Manny,

I just checked, originally there is no Elev. Adj. File in the FSX/Scenery/World/scenery folder - and also Aerosoft does not place one there! So if you have any Elev. Adj. File for KASE in this folder, it is from a different Addon (maybe a traffic addon) and should be disabled.

The elev. adj. File for Aerosofts KASE is in FSX/Aerosoft/AspenKase folder and should be in the Scenery.cfg as:

[Area.002]
Title=AspenKase
Local=Aerosoft\AspenKase
Active=TRUE
Layer=2
Required=FALSE

the actual Sceneryfolder is FSX/Aerosoft/AspenX and should be higher up in the scenery.cfg

Are you also using FTXVector ? in FTXVector KASE elevation should be disabled...

in FTXVector KASE elevation should be disabled...

Yeah it is. I simply raised the airport elevation to the highest point in the area using ADE and now they are all leveled up..the only thing missing is the runway texture. :) Oh well//

Manny,

That solved it for me at Santa Monica.  I just edited the BGL with ADE, raised it up to 77 feet where it should be and now it's just right!
